Got a call from a posh lady with a British accent, saying she was from 'Unity' and that my file had just come through to them. She was asking about a little car accident I’d supposedly had recently. Thing is, I don’t even drive! Told her straight it was a scam and to stop calling me, then I hung up. Number’s blocked now.

Got blocked straight away by my Call Control app. It showed the caller was from this company called RTA, and a bit of digging online tells me it’s a scam. They’re pretending to have buyers interested in buying businesses, but it’s all dodgy.

I received a rather aggressive phone call from someone asserting that I had been involved in a car accident, and that they were there to assist me with the legal ramifications. I firmly informed him that I haven’t had any accidents in the last three decades and requested that he remove me from their database, accusing them of scamming innocent individuals. When he started hurling insults, I decided to hang up. However, annoyingly, the calls persist. Is there any way to put an end to this nuisance?

A woman with a British accent said she was calling from "Unity consultants" about a "car crash" I supposedly was in. She knew my actual name, but when I told her I'd not been in any accident, she asked if maybe someone else was the right person to talk to. I said no one had been in any accident and she had called the wrong number, then she just ended the call. Definitely a SCAM.

Got a call from someone saying the UK Insurance Ombudsman sent my case to them about a payout of £1k to £3k. When I asked for the date of the accident they said they couldn’t share that because of Data Protection, and I’d have to give them that info instead! I just laughed and, not surprisingly, they hung up straight away. Number is blocked now, but I’m sure they’ll just use another one and keep bothering folks like this.

I really need assistance in getting this number to stop ringing my mobile. Unfortunately, my phone isn't one of those fancy models that can easily block calls. Got a missed call a few weeks back and just got around to checking who it was. I guessed it was one of those dodgy personal injury touts, and I thought I'd have a bit of fun messing with them: Me: "Yeah, I did have some sort of accident recently." Caller: "Could you tell me more about it?" Me: "Sure thing. I was on the bus heading into town and caught a terrible smell. Only when I got off did I realise the accident had happened! Am I entitled to claim some cash for this?" Caller immediately hung up and never bothered calling back.

I received a phone call earlier today from a chap who seemed to know my name and even had my address! He claimed he was ringing in reference to a recent mishap I had in my vehicle.
