My landline rang and since the phone hooked up to it doesn’t have a display, I figured it was my mate calling - he’s really the only one who has my number. When I picked up, the caller mentioned my DAD'S NAME, claiming to be from the AIC. Though, when they pronounced AIC, they said the first letter more like an “E” sound, which seemed a bit off.

When I got back, I plugged it in then dialled 1471 to check for missed calls and was surprised to see this number. Even though I never answered, this caller seems dodgy by reputation, so I’m flagging it as risky.

Got a call from someone claiming to represent a firm called “Ulster.” I didn’t share any details with him, and he said he’d be sending a letter to explain what it’s all about. He mentioned having my address and that the letter would clarify things since I don’t use the internet to check these matters. I don’t owe anyone anything - supposedly it’s some personal business debt? I’m disabled and have limited time left, so this is just confusing. I honestly have no idea what he’s on about. The number was 0141 457 7238. If I get the letter, I’ll upload a copy here.

Got a call from someone today, 14 May 2024, breathing heavily on the line. They claimed to be from Allied International, part of Barclay, and wanted me to confirm some info. I told them since they’re the ones ringing me, they should already have all the info related to the number. Then this bloke said he’d post me the details and just ended the call.

Got a text outta the blue telling me I owe £3.7k to some energy company I’ve never dealt with. Then they kept phoning, trying to get my personal info, which I refused to give. The person on the phone couldn’t answer any of my questions. Checked my credit report about a year later and now it says I owe £5.7k to an energy firm I’ve never had an account with!! I’ve got proof from the energy firm saying I’ve never been their customer. Have reported it to the National Cyber Security Centre.

They ring me like 2 or 3 times daily for about a month now. Then you get this AI voicemail telling you to ring a different number, 01414577042, with no clue who’s behind it, just some automated voice. Definitely a scam, same trick every time - auto voice first, then when you call back, it’s an Indian voice asking for your info. I’m fed up with this nonsense after all these years.

Some bloke called me claiming he was from an organisation called 'Allied' or something like that. When I asked what the call was regarding, he said he couldn't say because of GDPR rules. He wanted my full name and address, so I gave him just my name and my postcode. Then he pushed for more details, but I told him no way and said he should send me a letter if he already had my address. After that, he just hung up.

I’ve been getting calls from AIC in Glasgow about debts for Barclaycard, eBay and a few others. They never bother leaving a voicemail, just ring like clockwork twice daily. Thankfully you can sort stuff with them online instead of talking on the phone. If some flaming meteor burnt down that call centre, I wouldn’t be too upset!

This number keeps giving me "Silent Calls" nearly every day. When I looked it up, it seems to be linked to a debt collection company.
