8 yearsGot a call from someone with an Indian accent, going on about issues with my broadband and asking how I was feeling. Right away, I knew it was one of those scam callers. Told him off and made it clear not to ring me again, then just cut the call straight away!9 yearsThese are total con artists. They’ve been ringing from 02825645608, which is linked to an Indian call centre. They keep telling me I’m owed a government refund of around £3,000 for 'bank overcharging'. Their scam is that you’re meant to buy 2x £175 paysafe cards and then send them the codes, supposedly to pay a solicitor who’s meant to help get your cheque sent over. They say the solicitor’s on their way and you won’t have to pay until the cheque clears. Obviously, there isn’t any cheque or solicitor - all they really want are those card numbers. Stay clear, it’s a scam!9 yearsI had a rather peculiar phone call earlier today from this number. The individual on the line claimed to represent the Advisory Group. He mentioned that the Government had directed them to refund customers for the hidden charges that banks had previously imposed. He assured me that Mr .... would give me a ring at around 3:00 pm to share the details of my reimbursement. True to his word, at 3:00 pm, I received another call where the chap informed me that I was eligible to receive £3600. He went on to say that a Mr. ---- would swing by my house within the next couple of hours bearing a cheque for that amount. However, I was instructed to head to a paypoint and purchase vouchers totalling £360, which he claimed was a necessary fee. I was told I only needed to show him the vouchers, and that he would follow up later in the week once the cheque had supposedly cleared. I intend to look into this matter further and will be updating my thoughts on the situation as it unfolds.Advisory GroupGovernment9 yearsI got a call from this number and the chap on the line seemed to know my name and address quite well. He mentioned that I was entitled to some money from the bank due to a government initiative aimed at compensating customers for excessive charges. Apparently, these fees aren’t listed on your statement. The moment I pointed out that my account balance has never reflected any withdrawals, he abruptly terminated the call.9 yearsIt was a quiet caller, so I just blocked the number. After reading what others mentioned, I’d say it seems kinda risky.9 yearsGot a call around half past eleven this morning. The way the person said my surname, with that typical Indian accent all mangled, made me realise right away it was a scam. The whole chat went like this: him trying to say, "hello Mr. Mac..." but he stumbled over my name, and me just cutting him off with, "bye then." When I rang the number back, it just said, "the number you have dialled is not recognised." Well, that was unexpected!M9 yearsWatch out, got a call from someone with a foreign accent talking about some kind of “claim”. I caught on straight away and told him he was just a nasty scammer. Didn’t hang about, just clicked the phone down and will be blocking that number right away. Total scam alert.9 yearsThe call never got through thanks to the call blocker.9 yearsthis afternoon around 2:40 on 19/07/2017 i got a phone call but couldn't really catch what the bloke was telling me, apart from something about a refund cheque because i'd been overcharged by my bank over time. his accent was incredibly strong, making it hard to get a word in, and he began sounding a bit annoyed when i kept asking him to say it again. he mentioned i'd receive a call back from someone else in their team within the next couple of days to confirm some info. not convinced tho.9 yearsRang me at precisely 2:40 pm on the 19th of July, 2017. The caller had a strong foreign accent, likely Indian, making it rather difficult to grasp the gist of the conversation. He claimed that I was owed a refund by my bank due to some alleged overcharging. To be frank, he didn’t take kindly to my repeated requests for clarification; his tone was rather forceful, which could be distressing for someone who might be more susceptible. He went by the name of Michael.Michael9 yearsI've been receiving persistent calls on behalf of my 76-year-old mother, who isn’t the most tech-savvy, and it’s rather troubling. The caller, who always seems to be of Asian descent, has the audacity to use her first name and claims to represent her bank. It's quite disconcerting! Thankfully, I've taken steps to block this number using the TalkTalk blocking feature. Fingers crossed that puts an end to it!9 yearsThis number keeps calling me, usually in the afternoon between 2 and 6. It's some bloke with an Asian accent who somehow knows my first name. He acts like he's from my bank, but I’m not falling for it anymore. I’ve blocked the number now.9 yearsI received a call from this number on Tuesday, 18th July at precisely 14:53. The caller was a gentleman with either an Indian or Pakistani accent, claiming that there were charges taken from my bank account over the last decade, and he needed my banking information to refund the supposed overcharges. Initially, I thought it might be a prank, but it quickly dawned on me that it sounded like a scam. I kept repeating "hello, hello" to him, and he responded, asking if I was still there, to which I decided enough was enough and hung up. After that, I dialled 1471 to retrieve the number he called from, only to find that when I attempted to ring it back, a recorded message stated that the number was not in service. It's baffling how these con artists continue to operate without facing consequences!9 yearsToday, 17/07/19, I got three calls from this number claiming I was due a refund from the bank for supposedly hidden fees on my mortgage. I’ve never taken out a mortgage with TSB. When I said this, they first just cut me off. On the next call, they said I was being really rude and couldn’t understand my English properly. By the third call, they told me I wouldn’t be getting a cheque because of my attitude, calling me stupid and saying I didn’t get it. It was all very frustrating.TSB9 yearsSomeone kept ringin me up tryna get me to pay for some stuff. On the other end was a thick Indian accent inquiring about my father, who has been gone since 2009. The caller insisted that banks had been overcharging folks and that refunds were in the offing. I made no mention of my father’s passing, yet he pressed on, eager to know which bank I preferred for the refund. I informed him that I didn't bank anywhere, and preferred the cheque sent directly to me. To my astonishment, he remarked that, due to my age, he’d be sure to ring me again. Quite abruptly, he then ended the call. Very odd indeed!9 yearsToday around 2.40 pm, I got a call from this number. The guy on the line had a strong Indian accent and kept asking for my dad, who actually died back in 2009. He was going on about some bank fees being overcharged and that refunds were being given out now. I didn’t mention my dad was gone, but he just kept pestering me about which bank I wanted the refund sent to. I told him to send the cheque straight to me since I don’t really use banks. Then he says that because I’m apparently quite old, he’d ring me again later, and just like that, he hung up.9 yearsgot a call today at 3.24pm, but phone was on silent like always. they didn’t leave any voicemail or message.9 yearsGot a missed call earlier but couldn’t return it.
