Just got a call from someone saying 'My name's Derry' with a really strong accent, probably not their first language. They claimed to be from some Government Research Group. I ended up blocking the number straight away.

Got a call but couldnt answer cos i was tied up. Never shared my phone number before so dunno how they got it. Decided to look it up online and yep, it’s the same number. Felt a bit iffy about it so I blocked it straight away.

Phoned me saying she was from some government research firm targetting small businesses. "Maria" was really insistent she had to get hold of the MD’s contact details and talk to him directly since she was supposedly working for the government.

They rang my mobile when it was off, so it showed up as a missed call. Since I didn’t know the number, I looked it up here and it pretty much proved it wasn’t a legit caller.

I don’t give out my bank info, and I don’t even enter raffles. It worries me tho, what if an older or vulnerable person had picked up instead of me? These scam calls like this should be put to an end.

Got a call from a lady with a thick Scottish accent, wanted to chat to a woman about some kind of clothes survey. Told her no one was here, she asked when someone might be, I said we ain't interested and just ended the call. Popped her number onto BT call protect now.

At half past five on the 26th of November in 2019, my phone jangled, prompting me to pick it up. To my surprise, there was silence on the other end. It was clear that there was a connection, yet no one uttered a word. After a brief moment, I hung up, and the familiar dial tone returned, confirming that they had indeed disconnected.

I got a call from Solutions-Terrain[###], they’re a market research firm out of Toulouse. Seems like a proper company that can contact numbers on the TPS list, but it’s still annoying when they ring about shopping stuff like clothes.

They claimed to be ringing for TalkTalk, from some company called Smart Stat, wanting to carry out a survey. Since it was an unsolicited call, I just said no and hung up.

I picked up the phone and gave them our family name and the farm’s name since it’s a business. A really polite bloke asked if we were wheat farmers?? I told him we do dairy and are actually winding down the farm, then he wondered if any of our neighbours grew wheat. He mentioned his company’s name, but I didn’t catch it properly because it didn’t sound like anything to do with farming! Something along the lines of Research and Reasoning. He did hesitate a bit like he was trying to figure out what to say when I first spoke.

Got a call earlier today from someone saying they were with Kia finance. The only reason I knew that was coz I got this phone that makes strangers say who they are before you pick up, so I answered just as it was saying that. I hung up straight away. Also blocked another number the other day from someone else pretending to be from Kia finance.

They rang me twice without leaving a voicemail. I answered the third time and an American guy said he was conducting a 15-minute survey for HMRC about R&D tax credits. I ended the call straight away - not only had I got other stuff to do with that time, but also I was wary the info they asked for might end up being used in ways I don’t like: either passed to an “accountant” who’d try to sell dodgy tax dodge schemes, or used to submit fake claims pretending to be from my business.

Looking at the other reviews here, it’s clear this company is up to all sorts! Got a call this morning claiming to be from HMRC about some research & development loan we supposedly talked about years ago. Absolutely not true - we never discussed, applied for, or had any interest in such a dodgy loan, nothing to do with us whatsoever. I asked if they were actually HMRC, and the woman said, “We’re calling on behalf of HMRC.” Nah, you’re not, love! Best to steer clear and don’t give out any business info.
