Sounds like a typical telemarketer to me. When I picked up, the guy started saying they had some great deals that might catch my eye. I asked for more details and he said he’d only share if I gave him my address, name and age first. No way am I falling for that.

Received a call from an unknown number on my mobile on Wednesday the 19th around 11am, followed by another at 2.15pm the next day. I didn't pick up either time. They began with their typical nonsense about some “accident” I was supposedly part of. I got fed up and was quite blunt - I told them to get lost and slammed the phone down. For an entire week, I received daily calls from this number. When I finally decided to return the call, a chap with a rather thick accent answered with a simple “hello.” Inquiring about his identity, I felt a bit suspicious. I promptly told him to cease all calls to me and requested the name and address of the business. He mentioned something about Church Street in Glasgow but wouldn’t give me the specific street number. When I pressed for a manager, he claimed to be the manager-what a joke! He then transferred me to yet another fellow with a foreign accent, who also insisted he was the manager. When I confronted him about the dubious nature of their operation, he dismissed it as simply my opinion. After a lengthy back-and-forth, he decided to hang up. Interestingly, I hadn’t actually disconnected on my end, so the line remained open. He unwittingly picked up the line again, oblivious to the fact that I was still there, muted and listening in.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from Claims Direct about some accident claim. He said everything was sorted except for the payout. When I mentioned I’d not got any compensation yet, he seemed to falter, probably not used to that. Then his supervisor stepped in and after all the usual chat, admitted they weren’t connected to any insurance firm. I told them straight, "I know you're scammers trying to get my bank info." Guess what? They just hung up on me after that.

Someone called me saying they were “Martin”, sounded like they were from Birmingham or around the West Midlands. He said he was with “Claims Direct” and mentioned some recent road traffic accident - but I don't even have a car and he also mixed up my last name. I told him nicely to take my number off their list right away since this seemed like a GDPR breach. I warned them that if I get any more calls, I’ll be reporting it to OFCOM and the ICO.

Got a call from this Glasgow number, but the person on the other end definitely wasn’t from Scotland. They began by asking for Mr Smith, which isn’t me at all, then tried to talk about a car crash that supposedly wasn’t my fault - something I’ve never been involved in. When I questioned how they got my info, they claimed it was from the Motor Insurance Bureau, which sounds legit enough, but it’s very dodgy for them to be calling about this. I’m certain this is some sort of scam or phishing attempt, so steer well clear!
