Got a call just before nine this morning, but they hung up as soon as my answerphone started. Seems like the same dodgy scam from last week - some guy with an Asian accent claiming he was from BT about my internet. I was gonna turn on my microwave and make weird noises to sound like a computer, just to drag the call out, but I ran out of time.

An Asian chap attempted to masquerade as a BT representative, claiming that my router was connecting to unidentified IP addresses. Honestly, how would he even know if they weren’t mine? Absolutely ridiculous!

Had an extremely pushy individual on the line, speaking with a strong accent that seemed to be South Asian (probably Indian or Pakistani). They were masquerading as a Microsoft representative, going on about supposed issues with my computer. This is a clear SCAM!! Steer clear of any dialogue with them; simply hang up, make sure to REPORT and BLOCK this number straight away.

Got called around 3:20 this afternoon by the typical Microsoft guy. I told him off a bit, and he said he’d block me and report me for being rude! This number kept ringing us 3 times yesterday and once more early this morning at about 7.45. The person claimed they were from Microsoft and that our computer had been compromised. When I told him there was no issue and called him out for trying to scam me, he turned quite nasty. He threatened to block me from using my PC and then said I’d have to travel to Reading to sort it out. He said exactly the same thing to my husband just the day before.

Someone rang me the other day and sounded really pushy. Then they phoned again today, but as soon as I picked up, they just dropped the call.

This bloke claimed he was calling from Microsoft, but when I told him I didn’t use anything Microsoft, he just kept on going. He kept warning me that my computer would get blocked, and that if it did, I’d need to travel all the way to Reading to sort it out. I refused to put any codes into my laptop and ended the call straightaway. Honestly, I felt a bit intimidated. A bit later, he rang me again, but from a different number!

Got a call from this number earlier today, some bloke claiming to be from Microsoft. He said they had to verify my computer’s licence or something like that. I wasn’t convinced at all and it made me feel a bit uneasy. I just told him I don’t even own a computer and then he just ended the call.

I got a call from a lady speaking with such a thick accent, I could barely catch what she was saying. She claimed there was an issue with my PC and asked me to turn it on. I replied, "Oh, so you want me to turn it on just so you can install some dodgy software and then charge me to fix it?" She hung up right after I said that.

They may threaten to lock your system, but don’t be fooled; they lack the ability to do so. Got a call from 01414041913 on 12/11/22 but there was no sound, just silence. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

On 12/11/22, a man rang up claiming our computer needed an urgent privacy check. He kept pushing that our system wasn’t safe at all. When I said I was happy with my setup, he got really rude and kept telling me otherwise. This went on for more than ten minutes before I ended the call. Right after, he phoned back and started yelling, even threatening to cut off the computer service because he said he had control over it. He was shouting non stop, not giving me a chance to speak until I finally hung up again. Definitely a scam, stay clear!

This person just wouldn’t give up. The first time he called, I told him to stop and ended the call because I didn’t like what he was saying. But he rang straight back, claiming he was from Microsoft and said I’d ignored a warning about hackers using my PC. He warned if I didn’t do what he said, they’d block my computer and accuse me of helping hackers. Then he said it would cost me £2,000 to sort it out. When I asked for a number to check with Microsoft properly, he wouldn’t give one. Felt like a proper scary scam.
