Got a robo call claiming to be from HMRC saying there’s an investigation on me and I had to press ‘1’ to avoid getting arrested. I pressed 1 and ended up speaking to a guy with a strong South Asian accent from what sounded like a call centre. When he asked why I called, I said I got an automated message about an investigation. Then he wanted my name to check details but I refused, just saying “no thanks.” That seemed to annoy him and he snapped back with “No thanks? Fine, wait for the police!” and then cut the call.
