I received a voicemail from 01413211093 claiming there was some tax fraud and if I didn’t respond, I’d get a summons from the Inland Revenue. Totally a scam! I ignored the message and just hung up. It’s not right to get threatening voicemails like that, they really ought to be stopped.

Some bloke claiming to be from an energy firm phoned me, really persistent fella. Even after I told him it was a bad time and said no, he just kept going on about how he could save me loads on my energy, like £600 or something, and kept asking if I wanted to save cash. This number has phoned me 4 times since yesterday. A bloke said he was ringing from an energy provider to check if I was on the correct tariff. He asked me to confirm my postcode, which he read out, and I did. I didn't share anything else. When I told him I’m not the one who handles the bills, he said sorry and that he’d ring back when I’m less busy. Not sure if it’s a scam or not, but after reading the other comments, maybe it is. He seemed polite, but trust is hard to come by these days.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with ESB energy, definitely wasn’t Scottish and seemed clueless about what ESB actually stands for. They were trying to push electric and gas deals but sounded like they were making it up as they went along. Asked for a Mr Michael but somehow knew my last name too. The guy sounded African and totally lost about the whole thing, just seemed to be fishing for info. I’ve blocked the number now, better not pick up if it rings you.

I tried a few times to end the call by saying I’ll check with my partner first and call back. But he wouldn’t let me off the line. I ended up giving some info like my name and address, but when he asked for my account number for a direct debit, I got proper nervous - felt a bit off, not sure if he was actually from ESB. As soon as the guy heard my voice (deep male voice), he hurriedly asked, “Is Taylor there?” I told him no, he must’ve dialled the wrong number. He then chuckled and said “Alright, thanks.” Felt like he was just pretending. His accent sounded like it was either Anglo-Indian or Anglo-Pakistani. The phone showed the location as Glasgow.
