A woman called me claiming to be associated with a 'Help to Buy' initiative. I had received a similar call not long ago, which I thought was related to government assistance for purchasing a home. However, when I quizzed her on what exactly it was she needed me to spend my money on, she surprisingly stated she wasn’t asking me to buy anything at all! Instead, she mentioned something regarding household appliances older than a decade. Yet, when I pursued my inquiries further, she seemed quite put out and hung up on me!

Got a call from some bloke called Alexi, sounded like he was in a noisy call centre. Said he was from Glasgow, which matched the 0141 number. Said he wanted to ask some questions about our house and claimed to be from the Help to Buy scheme. Said he found our number on some database but couldn't say which one. When I asked for his office address, he said he didn’t know it. Told him about the TPS and he acted like he had no clue what that was. When I pressed him for his company name, all he kept saying was Help to Buy. Told him he seemed clueless and then he just hung up.
