I just got off the phone right after picking up.

I've had nothing but hassle from Opus debt collectors. Best just to block the number straight away.

I received a phone call last night from this number, with the caller claiming to be from OPOS, a debt collection agency, inquiring about a final payment regarding an outstanding balance from a One Select utility bill. Now, I was previously a customer of One Select, which unfortunately ceased operations back in December 2018, with Together Energy taking over their clients’ accounts. The individual on the line insisted they were following up on behalf of Together Energy; however, I haven't received a final bill from them yet. Just last week, I was informed by Together Energy that the bill would be forthcoming on 18th March, which is next Monday. This situation has left me feeling quite suspicious, as I'm concerned that this number may not actually belong to OPOS, though they are indeed known as a debt collection agency that collaborates with utility firms. It raises the possibility that this could be a scam, capitalising on the fact that they have access to details of former One Select customers, many of whom likely have outstanding debts. Interestingly, I believe my account is actually in credit, and I'm owed a sum of money. Given that I've yet to see my final bill, I’m puzzled about how this caller has more information than I do, especially since Together Energy is unable to provide any clarity either! During the OPOS call, we established that my account has been paused with no detrimental impact on my credit record while things are sorted out. They've asked me to notify them when the matter is resolved, and to facilitate this, they sent me an email, which I must mention they already had my email address without me providing it. This email contains a link instructing me to log into my OPOS account, but naturally, I’m apprehensive that both the email and the link could be a ruse. For the time being, I'm left contemplating that this could potentially have been a legitimate OPOS call, but nonetheless, I'm cautious. - Caller: Claiming to be OPOS, but I remain uncertain about their authenticity.
