Had a ring earlier from someone asking about my mum and some accident. Told them nothing like that’s happened to her, shes fine, and to stop calling. They wouldn’t listen, so I told them proper firmly to never call again since it’s all made up. To my shock, they said they’d call me every day from now on. Honestly, I was livid. What a nasty person.

Got a call on my mobile saying I’d been in a car crash and my number was at the scene. I told them I’d never had an accident. They said they didn’t believe me for a second. When I accused them of cold calling, they said they weren’t because they had all my info, but wouldn’t say what they actually knew. Auto assist called about a small bump I had some time ago, with no other parties involved. Had a nice little chat with the lady about cold calls and phishing, she kept saying she couldn’t give me any info due to data protection rules. Asked her who my insurer was, but then she backtracked and said it was a third party claim instead. She couldn’t give me any details and kept pushing for more info until she finally gave up. My advice for anyone who gets these scam calls: try to keep them chatting as long as you can so they waste their time and bother fewer people.
