These days, genuine energy companies pretty much never ring you out of the blue. Loads of scams about pretending to be energy firms, so if you think a call sounds dodgy, definitely report it. You can also just text the number 7726 to report suspicious calls. Every single one gets looked into properly.

Pretty sure that was Scot.PWR. They’re switching everyone off old analogue meters since they can’t be used anymore by law. Because there’s no uniform meter type now, they’re installing Smart ones instead. I tried to get a date to fix mine but the earliest was ages away, so they bumped me to the 2025 queue. Guess I’ll wait it out. Also noticed the electricity usage jumped weirdly last month… makes me a bit suspicious, to say the least!

I've been getting nonstop calls and emails from Scottish Power trying to push a smart meter on me like it's some must-have thing. It’s really not compulsory though. I blocked their number long time ago since the calls just kept coming and now they all come through as spam, which they totally are.

Watch out for Scottish Power, they’re pushing people into switching to them unfairly. They took over my account without permission from my old supplier and now won’t let me switch back unless I involve the Ombudsman. On top of that, they’re pressuring me to install a smart meter, which I’m not keen on at all. Honestly, I’m ready to take it to the Ombudsman because I know they’ll be hit with a £500 fee straight away.
