I've been getting loads of calls from Scottish Power about their smart meters. I told them I’m not interested, then blocked one number they kept using. But after that, they started ringing me from a different number. Guess what? I've blocked that one too now. It's proper annoying!

This is nothing but pure harassment. I’ve read the replies from this company trying to make themselves look genuine, but seriously, take note of what everyone’s saying and just stop bothering people. Also, whoever’s handling calls for you need to be told that saying smart meters are a requirement is just wrong and not on at all. There’s no rule forcing folks to have one. I'm with Scottish Power too, and they said because I live out in the sticks, they can’t install a smart meter since it won’t connect wirelessly for readings. After seeing some of the reviews, I decided to just block the number altogether.

Received a dodgy call regarding a smart meter, rang me twice today. The first time, there was no sound on the line, but I answered on the second ring. The caller, a Scottish-Indian woman with a very pronounced accent, tried to extract personal information by deceitfully stating that I needed to set up an appointment for a smart meter installation "due to the age of your home and your gas meter." What a nonsense, considering our gas meter has been checked and certified by a CORGI engineer and is good for another two decades. I blocked the number straight after. It’s a risky identity theft attempt, so please don't divulge any personal information to this caller!
