Yesterday, I got an automated call claiming that HMRC is taking legal action against me due to tax fraud, urging me to press 1 to speak with my case officer if I wanted to avert further legal troubles. Be warned, this number is a scam! It might even be a premium-rate line, so whatever you do, don’t press that 1!
