It was rather peculiar; the caller seemed to know my name without any introduction. They were keen to chat about my life insurance and requested my personal details, claiming it was so they could provide guidance on my entitlements.

They were fishing for my personal details but got the name all wrong. When I pointed it out, they just brushed it off saying it was a simple data slip-up. Still, they insisted they had to talk to the person who owns the number and wanted me to verify that. Bit fishy if you ask me.

They began by asking for my name and said they weren’t from any insurance firm, but wanted to collect my details to suggest benefits if I signed up with One. Then they started asking about my family, whether I rent or own my home, and also wanted to know my age. But when I asked them how they got my number, they said it was through AI, claiming it helps them assist others, before going back to why they were calling.
