Got a call from a blocked number that went straight to voicemail, so I checked the message. First there was this heavy breathing for a bit, which honestly made the guy sound more unwell than creepy like he was aiming for. Then in a really thick Scottish accent, he says, “Yeh that’s it, you got it.” Proper weirdo. I’ll be reporting any future messages to the police for sure. I accidentally deleted this one though, shakey hands because of a medical thing I’ve got. It’s bad enough bothering people, but sending disturbing messages where kids might be able to hear? That’s just not on. They’ve got to be stopped somehow.

Honestly, I've found having an answerphone is a lifesaver. Loads of these callers just can’t stand them. They don’t say a word, just cut off straight away. The best bit is knowing they didn’t bother you and actually wasted money trying! Anyone legit, like mates or family, will always leave a voice message if they really need to get in touch.

I've blocked them from calling me altogether. Heard loads about how dodgy these smart meters are. No chance I'm letting one in my home! The gas firms aren't telling the full truth. Even a London MP has raised the issue in Parliament since folks are being pushed into installing these things. If you dig around on Facebook, you'll find plenty of groups from various countries that have rejected them due to health worries and even house fires. The running cost can be as much as £460 a year, and worse, all your data ends up stored in some central system in Belgium! Basically, you're ending up paying the EU for your gas, since the government sold off a big slice to them, and now we're forced to buy it back at a premium. They're also hacked pretty easily - some clever people steal your gas, resell it, and then you get the bill! Just check what's happening over in the US to get the full picture!

I’ve blocked them straight away. I’ve heard all about the risks that come with Smart meters - no chance I’m getting one installed! The gas companies aren’t being honest about it. There’s even an MP in London who’s taken the issue to parliament because folks are being pressured into having these meters put in. Have a look yourself online, check out Facebook groups and see which countries have actually refused them, plus all the health concerns and the fires linked to them. They can cost up to £460 a year to operate, and get this - all your data ends up stored centrally in Belgium! We’re basically paying the EU for our British gas, especially since the government sold a big chunk of it to the EU, who now want to charge us more for it.
