I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, especially when my phone flags them as possible spam. I’ve gone ahead and blocked this number now. Kinda weird that this scammer’s number has popped up again after a whole decade.

This number called my partner yesterday, and then today someone else got in touch saying my partner had supposedly agreed to something, even saying they had a recording of the call. They weren’t willing to accept a simple no. I asked straight up for the name and address of the company’s Managing Director so I could complain properly. After that, they finally said they’d take our info off their list. I wouldn’t trust these people at all and I’ve blocked the number now.

Someone called saying they were from Major Life Planning. When I asked if it was a sales call or some kind of official government advice, she insisted it was a government advice service. She started asking about life insurance, funeral plans, and whether I owned my home. I didn’t want to share that info, so she just ended the call.

Just wanted to flag a phone number that seems dodgy: 0141 280 2102. It claims to be a Glasgow-based company selling construction machinery through the site www.lewis-tractors.co.uk. The caller, someone named Daniel Nemicz, told me this but it all sounded a bit off.

I answered a call from 01412802446 around 5.20pm on 10/2/16, waiting on an important call, only to realise I’d been duped. I’m on the TPS list and my number’s unlisted, so this was pretty frustrating. The conversation went a bit like this: “Is that Mrs Walton?” I said no and told them they’d got the wrong number. They asked if my address was Ocean Road North, which it’s not, so I asked where they’d got the number from. They claimed it was from Mrs Walton. When I asked what number they’d dialled, they said the one from Mrs Walton. Then the person said, “Well love, Mrs Walton must be a bit daft to not even know her own number, just like you,” before abruptly ending the call. Later, at 6pm, I called the number again but added 141 in front, hoping to block caller ID. A woman with a Scottish accent answered and asked me to leave a message, saying they’d get back to me. But then the line clicked a few times and suddenly an American voice said the voicemail was full and they couldn’t take my message! Bit of a let-down, ‘cause I was ready to give them a piece of my mind. Suspicious caller from a “Scottish” company, that’s for sure.

I keep getting calls almost daily from this number asking for someone who doesn’t even live here. I’ve told them over and over, but it’s really starting to annoy me. When I tried to speak to a manager, they just said “umm ok” and hung up straight away. I called back and only got an automated voicemail. Not sure if it’s connected but we also had a huge phone bill this month - even though we hardly ever use the landline, only for emergencies since we mostly rely on mobiles. The timing of the calls and the big bill seem to line up, so maybe there’s a link? Could be me overthinking it though. I received a call on 12th September 2015 at around 2 in the afternoon regarding some sort of future planning or the like. When I questioned the woman on the line about whether she was aware that she was violating the rules by calling a number registered with the TPS, she seemed taken aback, apologised profusely, and assured me that I would not have to endure another call from them. I received a voicemail from this number claiming to be from DC Marketing Ltd, and they left a callback number 0845 862 2615 along with a website. I looked up the website and it’s completely dead, doesn’t exist at all. I haven’t called back the number because don’t see the point in wasting my time or money. For the past five years or so, this number has rung me about twenty times. They always ask for some ‘Mr Mc…’ and when I tell them I’m not him, and I don’t know anyone by that name, they try to confirm if I live at ‘9 Craig…’ address. I say no, that’s in the village a good mile away, and then they just hang up. Not long ago, I pretended to be ‘Mr Mc…’ just for laughs, and they straight away started talking about upgrading my solar heating system, which I don’t even have. When I told them they must have the wrong chap, they ended the call very quickly. Just this morning at 10:55 they called again and went through the same old routine. I think I once traced that number back to a renewable heating firm near Manchester, and fired off a sharp email telling them to stop hassling me. Didn’t help, obviously! Caller ID is a mystery.

This number keeps ringing my phone non stop, just like loads of others do. Luckily, my router logs the calls but thankfully it never lets them actually get through to me, which is a relief. If you can, get a phone that lets you block certain numbers, it’s a bit of a lifesaver. Received a call seeking Mrs xxxxx. When I informed them I had only recently moved in and my number was new - just six weeks old, they assured me they'd remove it from their records. Same here, I never answer unknown numbers. If it’s family or mates, they usually don’t hide their digits because they want you to get back to them. Strange thing is, 1471 actually logged this number, so best to Google it before bothering to call back. In this case, I’d say don’t bother ringing it at all - there’s plenty of evidence here that makes it seem like a proper nuisance caller. These calls are such a pain, especially for elderly folks who find phones tricky to use. It’s 2015 now, time these jokers got banned across all networks. The police should be tracking them down and putting an end to it all. Failing that, we need someone like Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men to come and sort them out. Just call him Dude!

When I asked them where they got my details from, they just brushed me off. I then asked to chat with someone senior, like a supervisor, but they claimed no one was around. Saying I'd happily hang on seemed to annoy them loads, and they ended up being pretty rude. It’s annoying getting that sort of nonsense when you're just trying to relax at home - definitely an unwanted call from someone called Age Society or something like that.

These muppets keep ringing non stop. It’s defo not a Glasgow number, they hide the real one so you can’t track them. They’ve got your digits off some dodgy marketing firm - they’ll never say which one. You get a random call offering a house survey because apparently there’s government cash for fixing up windows, insulation, boilers and such. These cowboys are just trying to make a quick buck. The only way to get them off your back is to invite the surveyor round and then, when they show up, tell them you’re no longer interested. The surveyors know full well that the contacts they use are fishing in dodgy waters, breaching Ofcom rules, so it’s fair to give them the runaround. - caller: hidden number

This number has rung me twice now. The initial call was from a woman yesterday, asking for a person who doesn’t live at my place. When I pressed for details, she mentioned Age Society UK Ltd and said they were conducting some sort of research. I told them to take my number off their list. Then just now, they called again but as soon as I picked up, they ended the call straight away. If you try calling them back, all you get is a recorded message with no option to leave a voicemail.

Received a rather strange call from some joker making odd sounds on the line. I tried ringing back, but was directed to extension 123, only to be greeted with a 'mailbox full' message. How peculiar!
