This number called my partner yesterday, and then today someone else got in touch saying my partner had supposedly agreed to something, even saying they had a recording of the call. They weren’t willing to accept a simple no. I asked straight up for the name and address of the company’s Managing Director so I could complain properly. After that, they finally said they’d take our info off their list. I wouldn’t trust these people at all and I’ve blocked the number now.

Received a call from 01412802446 at 5:20 PM on the 10th of February, 2016. I was expecting a critical phone call, but what a hassle it turned out to be! I’m absolutely furious. I’m registered with the TPS and my number is ex-directory. So the conversation goes like this: “Mrs Walton, is that you?” I replied, “Absolutely not! You’ve got the wrong number.” Then she goes on asking, “Is your address Ocean Road North?” I snapped back, “No, and where on earth did you get this number?” She claims it was from Mrs Walton. I retorted, “Alright then, what number did you dial?” She answered, “The one given by Mrs Walton.” I thought, “Blimey, Mrs Walton doesn’t even know her own number - must be a right idiot like you!” She then asked, “Is it raining in Scotland?” and promptly hung up. Next, I tried calling back at 6 PM on the same date with 141 prefixed. A woman with a Scottish accent told me to leave a message on their answering machine and they’d return my call, but then the line clicked a few times and suddenly, I heard an American woman say their voicemail was full and they simply couldn’t take my call! I received a call on 12th September 2015 at around 2 in the afternoon regarding some sort of future planning or the like. I've been inundated with calls from this 'number' for at least the past five years - around 20 times, if I had to estimate. They always inquire after a 'Mr. Mc....' and whenever I inform them that I neither know him nor am I him, they proceed to ask if my address is '9 Craig....'. To which I respond, 'No, that address belongs to a village a mile away!' (And it really does!), and they promptly hang up! On one occasion, I decided to play along and feigned being 'Mr. Mc....', only for them to launch into an aggressive pitch about updating my solar heating system-which, I might add, I do not possess. When I insisted they had the wrong person, they cut off the call with no hesitation. This morning, around 10.55, they rang me once more-it’s the same tiresome routine! If it's someone from your circle, they wouldn't keep their number private - after all, family tends to get in touch without any guesswork needed. In all honesty, it might be wiser to steer clear of such numbers, given there's ample information available to consider them a nuisance. These unsolicited calls can be an utter bother, particularly for elderly folks who might find modern phones quite tricky to handle. It's high time these nuisances faced stricter repercussions; we're well into 2023 and we should be implementing full restrictions from service providers. The authorities ought to track down these bothersome individuals, as it’s simply unacceptable. They ring me up about 6 times every day, it’s proper annoying. They just hang up as soon as I pick up. Last time it was some bloke from Pakistan. Honestly, they need to stop it, all this 9/11 stuff and what not gets on my nerves. Just wish they’d sod off.

After a quick investigation, it appears the calls are originating from India. There are numerous similar numbers listed on Google, so I'd like to request that all of them be blocked, if possible. These unscrupulous, unprofessional firms are desperate to exploit this situation for profit. The best tactic to halt this annoyance is to let the surveyor come to your home, and when he shows up, kindly inform him you’ve had a change of heart. These surveyors are already aware that their leads are sourced in violation of Ofcom regulations, so giving them the run-around seems only fair. - caller: masked number

I've had a couple of calls from this number lately. The first one came in yesterday from a woman inquiring about someone who definitely doesn’t live at this address. When I pressed for more details about who they were and the nature of their call, she mentioned something about Age Society UK Ltd conducting some sort of research. I made it clear that I wanted my number taken off their list. However, I just got another call from them, and this time, when I picked up, they simply disconnected. If you attempt to return the call, you're met with a recorded message, and there's no option to leave a voicemail. Quite frustrating, to say the least!
