I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, especially when my phone flags them as possible spam. I’ve gone ahead and blocked this number now. Kinda weird that this scammer’s number has popped up again after a whole decade.

This number called my partner yesterday, and then today someone else got in touch saying my partner had supposedly agreed to something, even saying they had a recording of the call. They weren’t willing to accept a simple no. I asked straight up for the name and address of the company’s Managing Director so I could complain properly. After that, they finally said they’d take our info off their list. I wouldn’t trust these people at all and I’ve blocked the number now.

Someone called saying they were from Major Life Planning. When I asked if it was a sales call or some kind of official government advice, she insisted it was a government advice service. I answered a call from 01412802446 around 5.20pm on 10/2/16, waiting on an important call, only to realise I’d been duped. I’m on the TPS list and my number’s unlisted, so this was pretty frustrating. The conversation went a bit like this: “Is that Mrs Walton?” I said no and told them they’d got the wrong number. They asked if my address was Ocean Road North, which it’s not, so I asked where they’d got the number from. They claimed it was from Mrs Walton. When I asked what number they’d dialled, they said the one from Mrs Walton. Then the person said, “Well love, Mrs Walton must be a bit daft to not even know her own number, just like you,” before abruptly ending the call. Later, at 6pm, I called the number again but added 141 in front, hoping to block caller ID. A woman with a Scottish accent answered and asked me to leave a message, saying they’d get back to me. But then the line clicked a few times and suddenly an American voice said the voicemail was full and they couldn’t take my message! Bit of a let-down, ‘cause I was ready to give them a piece of my mind. Suspicious caller from a “Scottish” company, that’s for sure.

I keep getting calls almost daily from this number asking for someone who doesn’t even live here. I’ve told them over and over, but it’s really starting to annoy me. When I tried to speak to a manager, they just said “umm ok” and hung up straight away. I called back and only got an automated voicemail. Not sure if it’s connected but we also had a huge phone bill this month - even though we hardly ever use the landline, only for emergencies since we mostly rely on mobiles. The timing of the calls and the big bill seem to line up, so maybe there’s a link? Could be me overthinking it though. Got a call on 09/12/2015 around 2 in the afternoon about some sort of future planning thing.

When I told the woman it was illegal since I'm on the TPS list, she acted like she didn’t know, said sorry, and promised she wouldn’t bother me again.

I looked up the website and it’s completely dead, doesn’t exist at all. I haven’t called back the number because don’t see the point in wasting my time or money. For the past five years or so, this number has rung me about twenty times. They always ask for some ‘Mr Mc…’ and when I tell them I’m not him, and I don’t know anyone by that name, they try to confirm if I live at ‘9 Craig…’ address. I say no, that’s in the village a good mile away, and then they just hang up. Not long ago, I pretended to be ‘Mr Mc…’ just for laughs, and they straight away started talking about upgrading my solar heating system, which I don’t even have. When I told them they must have the wrong chap, they ended the call very quickly. Just this morning at 10:55 they called again and went through the same old routine. I think I once traced that number back to a renewable heating firm near Manchester, and fired off a sharp email telling them to stop hassling me. Didn’t help, obviously! Caller ID is a mystery.

This number keeps ringing my phone non stop, just like loads of others do. Luckily, my router logs the calls but thankfully it never lets them actually get through to me, which is a relief. If you can, get a phone that lets you block certain numbers, it’s a bit of a lifesaver. I received a call earlier asking to speak with Mrs xxxxx. I explained I’d only just moved into this address and have only had the phone number for about six weeks. They assured me they’d take my number off their list. But then, when I checked the caller ID by dialling 1471 and tried ringing the number back, it said the number wasn’t recognised at all. Same here, I never answer unknown numbers. If it’s family or mates, they usually don’t hide their digits because they want you to get back to them. Strange thing is, 1471 actually logged this number, so best to Google it before bothering to call back. In this case, I’d say don’t bother ringing it at all - there’s plenty of evidence here that makes it seem like a proper nuisance caller. These calls are such a pain, especially for elderly folks who find phones tricky to use. It’s 2015 now, time these jokers got banned across all networks. The police should be tracking them down and putting an end to it all. Failing that, we need someone like Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men to come and sort them out. Just call him Dude!

This number has rung me twice now. The initial call was from a woman yesterday, asking for a person who doesn’t live at my place. When I pressed for details, she mentioned Age Society UK Ltd and said they were conducting some sort of research. I told them to take my number off their list. Then just now, they called again but as soon as I picked up, they ended the call straight away. If you try calling them back, all you get is a recorded message with no option to leave a voicemail.
