A couple of days back, a call came through from a withheld number, asking for someone called Mrs Lemming. I told them there’s nobody here by that name. Didn’t give it much thought after that. But then this evening, another call came, this time from a lady asking for the same person. I got quite annoyed and told her again that no one called that lives here. I checked with 1471 and saw it was a Glasgow number, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked it.

This particular number has been ringing me approximately every three to four months for the past eight years, ever since I moved into my current abode. Most often, it tends to happen around the time we sit down for our evening tea. Each time, they inquire about 'Mr MacKintosh' or sometimes 'Mr and Mrs MacKintosh.' Quite perplexingly, there has never been an individual by that name at my residence or associated with this number. Initially, I presumed it to be a simple case of mistaken identity. However, after several attempts to clarify that no one by that name resides here, I've requested multiple times for them to remove my number from their records. Each time I do, they assure me that they will. Yet, inevitably, a few months later, the calls return. These days, my responses have become rather curt, and considering I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service, I promptly report them to the Information Commissioner’s Office as a nuisance.

For about eight years, every few months this same number rings me just about tea time. They keep asking for ‘Mr MacKintosh’ or sometimes ’Mr and Mrs MacKintosh’, but no one with that name has ever lived here. At first, I thought it was just a harmless wrong number. Got a call today from a Glasgow number but they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. Then, a few hours later, another call came through from a different number saying they were from "the national data base". Since I recently had my boiler replaced under the boiler replacement scheme, I knew straight away this was a load of nonsense. Got a call from this number about 7.45 in the evening. I seen who it was but didn’t know the number so I didn’t pick up. They left no voicemail. They keep ringing me every day from late afternoon till around 9pm. This is honestly getting out of hand and feels like harrassment now.

This number belongs to FEP Heatcare Ltd out of Glasgow. Just recently they got hit with a £180,000 fine by the Information Commissioner for sending out 2.7 million nuisance calls. Honestly, avoid this company at all costs! If you need a new boiler, look somewhere else. There are loads of negative reviews from unhappy customers on the Which? website. If you fancy giving these lot a ring to waste their time, their number is 0800 376 1180.

After looking it up, I realised this site is genuinely run by the Scottish Government and supports businesses - not individuals - in improving energy use. keeps ringing non stop. tried calling back to tell them to stop but no answer. they phone me anytime, even on weekends. proper annoying now

Received a call this morning, but there was no message left. We're suspecting it might be one of those "old boiler" scam calls. I’m going to block the number and report it to the Information Commissioner's Office.

I received a call where the person was after someone who obviously doesn’t live here and then abruptly hung up. Tried calling back, but the line seems to be completely silent. Quite odd, I must say.
