It was a firm calling for Scottish Power, I picked up but the call ended straight away. I rang them back and they have a process to get your number off their marketing list, says it takes between 2 to 7 days. Hopefully it actually stops the calls!

Someone rang me but I didn’t pick up, I don’t know anyone from Glasgow though. A few days later, I got another call from a different Glasgow number, 0141 7690258, I let that go too. Turns out people say this number shows up as harassing or unknown, so looks like spam to me.

Loads of calls like this lately, no messages left, ever since I signed up for a free mag - might not even be linked though. Some callers bring up personal insurance stuff, which I never asked about. Had around 10 calls just today alone. The numbers are this one plus 01282 570551, 01423 396686, and 01423 229177. I tried being polite and told them I wasn't interested, but they keep calling anyway. Wouldn't trust any of them at all.

Called my missus's phone pretending to be from Scottish Power's sales team, so I answered it instead. I asked where they got her number from since SP doesn't have it - I've been with them a few years and only my number is on file. Plus, her mobile is quite new anyway. This smells like a scam posing as Scottish Power, maybe a dodgy utility trying to switch you without you knowing. Also, SP’s actual phone number is an 0800, not a 0141 one, even though they’re both in Glasgow.

I just got a phone call from this number. The lady on the line had a lovely Scottish accent and claimed to be representing Scottish Power, suggesting they might be able to offer me a more advantageous energy deal. I can't definitively say if she was legitimate or not, though. She mentioned my full name, which is a bit concerning since I’m not even a customer of Scottish Power. Quite puzzling, to say the least!
