I received a phone call earlier, and when I picked up, it was dead air. I kept repeating hello, until a lady finally uttered my name. I responded affirmatively, and then she introduced herself as “PC,” but the rest of her name was lost on me. After that, it was back to silence. I thought she might clarify the reason for her call, but only more dead air followed. I kept trying to engage, saying hello repeatedly, but eventually, I had to hang up. To make matters worse, she rang me back three times in the next five minutes. This has been an ongoing nuisance, happening several times a week for the past few weeks.

Today, Sunday 28th May at about 7:12, I got a call from 0141 278 4200. My phone rang three times then stopped before I could pick up. I called the number back and someone said Police Scotland wanted to speak with me and told me to ring 101 for help. When I did that, they connected me straight to Police Scotland who asked me some routine questions and said that 0141 278 4200 isn’t a Police Scotland number and they couldn’t provide any info on it.
