I wouldnt answer these calls - sometimes they want the health and safety manager, other times they are after the data protection officer. It’s just a waste of time having a chat with them.

They claimed to be giving info about some new data protection rules. I told them my boss never accepts unsolicited calls, but they kept saying it wasn’t a cold call. Then they kinda mumbled that my boss hadn’t actually requested the call. Seriously, that’s a cold call, you muppet!

We actually renewed it back in November 2017, and she seemed surprised and said she’d fix her records. It felt a bit strange. I wonder if this is one of those scams where they try to get you to say “yes” so they can record it and use it for something else, like asking “Is this [name]?” and when you say yes, they grab it for their own purposes.
