I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT about a fibre connection we never even signed up for. The bloke was really unpleasant on the phone, just rude all the way through. When I said I’d be reporting it to the police, he just slammed the phone down. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

Somebody from BT Openreach called saying my internet was dragging. I had them on hold for about 45 minutes - went to answer the door for a parcel, calmed down my noisy dog pretending to be wild, even sneaked off for a quick wee and flushed the loo while they were still on the line. Eventually they gave up when I couldn’t provide some admin password they wanted. Managed to keep them hanging for a couple of calls they might have used to scam other people. The blokes at my IT job nearly burst out laughing at my little stunt.

This was definitely a scam and not anyone from British Telecom. I told the bloke on the phone he ought to feel embarrassed and find a real job. Got a call from this number, 01412605882, but I let it ring out and didn’t leave any voicemail. No idea who it could be.

Some bloke with an Indian accent was on the phone, going on about a dodgy BT connection or something. I told him I don’t even have BT. Then he started saying BT was the only internet provider in the UK. I corrected him, saying Virgin exists too. Right after that, he just cut me off. Typical scam call.

Got a call from a guy with a really heavy Indian accent claiming he was calling from BT about my broadband. Told him I wasn’t bothered and just ended the call. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

Some lady rang me with a really hard-to-understand accent, saying she was from Open Reach. I thought it sounded fishy and told her I wasn’t with Open Reach before hanging up. As far as I know, Open Reach deals with wiring stuff for BT and doesn’t usually bother people at home directly. I’m gonna block her number on my phone to stop this happening again.

I wasn’t home when they rang and they dropped a voicemail, but it was just dead quiet with no message.

I picked up and there was complete silence on the other end before they just cut off. It really gets to me because they keep ringing my elderly mum's landline, who has dementia. Makes me so angry how these scammers target people who can't really defend themselves. Honestly, I wish the authorities would take stronger action against this.

I just got a call but they ended it as soon as the voicemail kicked in.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a BT engineer about my internet. Totally sounded like a scam to me.

Without a doubt, this appears to be a dubious scheme. I received a call from someone purporting to be from BT, insisting he could enhance my broadband speed and resolve internet issues. While I had no qualms about checking my speed myself, the moment he requested that I alter my computer's settings, alarm bells began ringing. I quickly terminated the conversation.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach about my internet, sounded like a total scam. I tried calling back about 4 times and each time the number was different. The numbers were 02030459072, 02033335348, and 02034868651. The bloke, Alex, had an Asian accent and was so pushy. I ended up blocking all of those numbers and gave him a piece of my mind!

They keep ringing, but I can’t make head nor tail of what they’re saying.

I was out when 01412605882 rang me. Since they didn’t leave any voicemail, I looked up the number online and ended up on this site.

Got a call earlier and as soon as I picked up, the line went dead. I've been getting loads of dodgy calls lately, mostly from people with Asian accents, but this one was different because they didn’t even say anything. Pretty clear it was some kind of scam.
