I got a call from this number on 09-02-2017 around 10:15am, and the moment I answered, my phone suddenly started dialing out on its own. I cut the call straight away since I had no clue how much that could cost me. I looked up the number on Google afterwards and was shocked to see so many people complaining about it. I’m going to mark it as harassing because I never even got to talk to anyone.

Got a call from this bloke with an Indian accent, asking for me by name from 01412592056. I told him I couldn’t chat as I was busy chasing a mouse that was hiding inside my computer! He wasn’t happy and just hung up on me.

Got a call a few minutes ago from someone claiming to be from the Computer Licensing team. They said my PC was linked to some IP address and that it was currently active. When I asked how they knew this, they said they could see my laptop was on. The guy warned me to act quickly or my computer would be shut down for good. I asked if their company was genuine, and he got a bit annoyed. I told him off and told him not to call me again. Yeah, he sounded Asian but had a proper English name.

I received a call from someone named "Sam" approximately an hour ago. To amuse myself, I pretended to be clueless during the conversation, thus extending it for 20 minutes. This was quite effortless for a retiree like me. Sam became increasingly frustrated as time went on.

Received a call today at 12:31 from a certain number, and unfortunately it turned out to be a nasty scam. The person on the other end claimed his name was "Peter" (although his Asian accent was quite noticeable) and that he represented the "computer licensing department". According to him, my computer was allegedly running on two IP addresses, and unless I took immediate action, it would be shut down. It became clear to me that this was a scam, so I decided to question him for more details. I asked him specifically which organization he belonged to in the Computer Licensing Department, but his answers were evasive. Nevertheless, he concluded the conversation by using words like: "Do you want to keep your computer or do you want to lose it?" This statement was clearly designed to instill fear and manipulate susceptible individuals.

I received a call just like mine from this number. The lady who called had a foreign accent and claimed that my computer was going to be disconnected. When I asked her where she was calling from, she said London. However, I knew that it was actually a Glasgow area code, as I am from Glasgow myself.

Got a call yesterday from someone saying there was an issue with our Windows 10 computer. Since I work in IT, I played along acting clueless about tech for about 35 minutes. Then I told him we only use Macs and he had no idea what he was on about. He swore at me and ended the call. He’s called four more times since, but whenever I pick up, he just drops the call straight away.

Got a call from an Asian guy telling me my licence was about to expire. I asked him "which computer?" and he said "the laptop!" Then I asked "what operating system?" He said "Windows." So I went on, "Which version? XP, 7, 8, 10?" He couldn’t name any properly. I reckon by then he realised I knew more about computers than he did. The thing is, I sold my two laptops last year, so he must be working off info that’s at least 4 years old. These scammers want you to run windows +R so they can sneak something in and nick your data, no doubt about it.

I receive irregular phone calls both during the day and at night. These calls are quite strange, as sometimes there is no voice on the other end, while other times I am requested to switch on my computer. It is baffling how these calls manage to slip through without anyone being able to put a stop to them.

Just got a call from someone warning me my computer was about to be shut down. He asked for permission to take remote control, which obviously means letting them mess around with your system and possibly try to scam you afterwards. So rude, so irritating, and totally dishonest. I gave him a hard time, called him out as a crook and asked if he felt any shame. Eventually he hung up. Still, this kind of rubbish drives me mad - an older lady I know got scammed out of a few hundred quid the same way. You’d think the police would be able to track these muppets down straight away.

I received a phone call from someone asking to speak with my husband. I informed them that he was not available and then they requested to speak with another family member. I informed them that I am his wife. I was unpleasantly told, in a sarcastic manner, that being a wife is insignificant and doesn't matter. The caller identified himself as Robbie Williams. If you're going to attempt to spam someone, at least hire someone who is not a sexist idiot. I advised them to find something better to do with their life.

A caller, claiming to know the occupier by name and address, attempted to sound legitimate while discussing a potential scam. Unlike previous similar scams, this one sounded more alarming as they claimed that the computer was involved in spamming and fraudulent activities. Their main target seemed to be people operating Windows operating systems. They would ask you to run the "assoc" command from the command prompt, which displays file associations on your computer. They will then point out an entry on the screen ending with "00C04FD7D062" and claim it is your Windows license number. However, this is actually a class ID for a file association and remains the same for different Windows versions or machines. It is important not to visit any websites or download anything they suggest. By the way, they become quite agitated when you expose their deception and claim to be aware of their tactics.

Today, I received a phone call from a certain number, where the person on the line claimed that my son's computer would explode tomorrow unless they deactivated it. He claimed my house’s computer licence was about to expire tomorrow and needed renewing. I just hung up and tried calling back, but the number doesn’t take incoming calls. I reckon older folks might’ve got worried and maybe even handed over personal info or cash. This is a proper scam, so make sure you warn your mates and family about it.

Got a call from 01412592056, bloke said my computer was involved in some dodgy stuff and that they’re gonna block my IP address tomorrow. He said his name was Peter Stubbs, calling from 02078621901, and gave some address - Software Network, 2 Kingdom Street Paddington, London. Absolute scam, don’t fall for it!

I've been getting loads of calls starting with 0141 and a bunch of strange international numbers lately. My phone shows who's calling, which is quite handy. I usually just let it ring and then listen to my voicemail to see if it's someone legit - which rarely happens, of course. I've switched on blocking mode on my phone, and it’s really cut down the number of annoying calls. I also block any calls that come through without a caller ID. Definitely helps a lot!

Someone rang saying there was suspicious activity linked to my IP and threatened to cut off my internet. I said i’d call the cops and he just cooly told me to do it. He mentioned I had two choices but I just laughed and ended the call.

This number has rung me several times. I usually leave my answerphone on, so they hang up pretty quick once they realise no one’s gonna pick up.

Got two calls today from 0141-259-2056 saying my digital service is going off tomorrow. I use a pure linux system so no chance of any microsoft-related scam affecting me. I’m signed up with the telephone preference service to block these kinds of nuisance calls, so it’s clear this caller’s just a scammer ignoring the tps guidelines. Seriously, when will the authorities get serious and deal with these lot?

this is a proper dodgy scam where they say your windows or microsoft licence is about to run out tomorrow. problem is, i dont even use windows or any microsoft gear. i kept him on the phone for ages just to waste his time, then asked how he can live with himself scamming folks like that before hanging up.

these annoying cold calls should be banned, they feel like pure harassment. yet the government just turns a blind eye even tho everyone is fed up with them. especially when, like this one, they’re obviously dodgy scams. labour was useless when they led, and so far the conservatives haven’t done a thing either. no wonder people got fed up and voted for trump, and ukip’s gaining ground! people are just sick of politicians doing absolutely nothing I

These lot say they're a software network and give 2 Kingdom Street Paddington as their address. But that's actually Microsoft's address! I got in touch with Microsoft and they said these guys have no connection to them. I told the callers I'd ring back once I'd done a bit of digging, about half an hour later, but they never called me back. They're just after access to your computer, so don't let them in.

Over the past week or so, i've noticed 3 or 4 missed calls from this number. Also, i picked up a couple of times and all i got was silence. This last time, when i answered, there was a brief pause, then some music played for a moment before a guy with an asian accent started talking to me.
