I just had a call telling me I had some sort of HMRC tax fraud problem and that if I didn’t press 1 I’d get arrested. Obviously I freaked out and rang my husband straight away. If he hadn’t been there, I honestly think I might’ve been taken in by it!

Some bloke called, called himself 'Robert', asking about my life insurance. When I said, "Is this one of those cold calls trying to sell me insurance?" he claimed it was just a free review to check if they could save me some cash. For once, I politely said I wasn’t interested and asked him to take my number off their list. There was dead silence for like 10 seconds, then he just hung up without a single word. Next time, I’m gonna waste their time for a good half hour before telling them to piss off.

Sounds like one of those dodgy life insurance scams to me. My coverage is fine, no need for any damn review! Proper annoying. I've just gone ahead and blocked the number.

Got a call today. They wanted to speak to Mrs Carter (not the latest one). A polite bloke named David said he was checking on some insurance policy. The company was called L S Lloyd. I told him he’d dialled the wrong number and suggested he should ask for a refund from whichever scammer handed over this contact. Best to just ignore, but don’t reckon they’ll ever stop ringing.

They keep ringing but never leave a message when I don't pick up. There's way too many of these dodgy calls going on lately.

I’ve blocked them but they keep on ringing! My HTC keeps a record of blocked calls and texts, so they don’t actually get through or show me any alerts, which is good. This means I can check all the blocked numbers whenever I want. This number, in particular, is super persistent. I even took a screenshot of the rejected calls but I’m not sure how to upload it here. They usually call three times in a row, sometimes with over an hour between each batch, but every time they call they ring at least three times! So annoying!

Even though I’ve blocked 01412586130, they keep calling over and over! My HTC keeps track of calls and texts in the “blocked” folder so they don’t actually get through or bug me with alerts, which is handy as I can check the blocked calls whenever I want. This number is seriously persistent tho. I took a screenshot of the calls my phone rejected but can’t figure out how to upload it here. They usually ring 3 times in a row, then wait an hour or so before calling again, but it’s always at least 3 rings each time they try on different days!

Got two calls from this number within an hour. The first one said they were from Lloyds, then the second said they were from SSC. Both kept going on about some chat they supposedly had with me last year about my life insurance. I never deal with random callers, so instantly knew they were taking the mick.

Got a call saying I hadn’t finished some life insurance form. I pretended I had no idea and asked when exactly I did it, and he fumbled trying to pick a date. Then he went on about if I had insurance, I told him nope. He asked why and I said I’m not dying anytime soon! He just cut the call after that :-)

i normally pick up these calls, then just put the phone down and walk away without saying anything or getting involved with those scammy muppets. picking up the phone wastes their time and cash which makes me feel good. after a while, they stop ringing. probably they pass my number on and it all begins again. always answer but dont talk or ring back. lets annoy them a bit.

Got a call on my phone from an Asian guy who said his name was Alex, talking about life insurance and claiming they cover policies for people right up to 90 years old! He kept bombarding me with questions until he hit one he clearly didn’t have the answer to on his so-called ‘list’. Could hear him pause and stumble a bit, so I told him I was done with it and just ended the call and blocked the number.
