Got these annoying calls from some number I don’t recognise, sounds like scammers to me.

Today I got a message from a number I’d already blocked. It read: "This is for MISS VICKIE THURGOOD, please contact Mr Campbell at AIC on 01414577044, ref 8743596." When I rang back, an automated Scottish woman answered, saying all agents were busy and asked me to stay on the line. After about twenty minutes of music and robotic messages, she told me they couldn’t take my call and to ring again later. I tried a second time, only to get the exact same response. Hopefully, these calls count towards my contract minutes, otherwise it’s going to be an added expense! For the record, I’ve been without a home and relying on friends for nearly five years, and all my debts are already being handled.

Got a message from this number telling me to ring a Mr Lang at AIC and mention some kind of reference. Apparently Spark Energy wants more money? We never agreed to anything with them and don’t even know who they are since we took our energy supplier with us when we shifted. What should I do about this?

SPARK ENERGY is absolutely hopeless. Avoid them completely - they’re always looking for ways to rip you off. They do it simply because they know they can get away with it. The rules seem to favour them, letting them charge whatever they want, and if you don’t pay, the fees just balloon. I’ve been arguing with them for over three years now. They claim I used £6000 worth of electricity in that time, despite me living in a small one-bedroom flat and being out at work most days. I took it to the Ombudsman, but they sided with Spark Energy (don’t be surprised, the Ombudsman usually back the energy firms). When I asked them to check the meter for accuracy, Spark said it was fine. Now, they still want me to pay more than £3000, and I’m doing my best to resist. They’re only able to pull tricks like this because most people can’t afford legal battles to fight back. Spark Energy is just a shameless, terrible company.

I got a voicemail from someone claiming to be from Spark Energy one day, then the very next day another message from AIC showed up on my phone. Same guy’s voice on both messages, so makes me think they're just trying to freak people out rather than being a proper debt collector. Honestly, Spark Energy is a total rip-off, I’m done with them for good.

I started getting threatening texts from Spark Energy which was baffling as I never set up an account with them. No paper bills ever arrived at my place, just texts demanding I pay more than £60 for a time when I wasn’t even living in the flat. Although I’d signed the tenancy agreement, we couldn’t move in straight away because all our stuff was still being shipped from Australia. Plus, nothing was even switched on at the property during that period. It’s absolute nonsense to ask for a £60+ payment based on estimated meter readings. What’s worse, this was for a period over a year ago and all they do is send text messages rather than proper letters. Honestly, avoid Spark Energy if you can! And AIC really ought to think twice about who they’re representing.

After moving out and closing my account with Spark Energy, I was told the final payment was due by 28th May. I kept getting texts and letters from them reminding me to pay. When I finally rang Spark on 6th June, they said they’d already sent my details to Allied International. I told them I’d settle the bill by 23rd June and they seemed fine with that. Then Allied International phoned me chasing the payment too, but once I explained the situation, they updated the notes on my account. I’d recommend reaching out to Spark directly because their bills can be wrong - I only managed to get my final bill after a lot of chasing, even though I hadn’t lived at that address for two months!

I got a text telling me to ring this number, which I reckon is connected to Spark Energy. A while ago, I was charged way more than I should have been, so I phoned Spark to sort things out. I told them the meter reading they were using to estimate my bill was totally wrong because I usually spend no more than £50 a month. Instead, they were charging me about four times that. I paid the amount but asked them to send someone over to check the meter for real. Later on, I received a letter from a debt collection agency and now this message popped up. I’m just gonna ignore it, as I’m pretty sure it’s a scam trying to scam more cash out of me.

Got a call the other day where they kept asking for my partner but refused to say why, claiming it was something to do with the "data protection act." I kept pressing for some hint about the reason, cause if it’s important I’d want to know. She just wouldn’t budge and said she’d try to reach him another way, which made me laugh considering I’m on all the contacts and he’s foolishly got his name on everything. Cheers to everyone who left comments before - turns out it’s something about our old flat and Spark Energy. At least now I can stop worrying cause it’s all just rubbish.

I keep getting calls claiming I owe Spark more than £400, which is ridiculous. I check my meter and clear my bills monthly, so I asked Spark for some kind of explanation. They gave me this number to ring back, but it’s not a free one. I was pretty blunt with them, told them they can take me to court if they want. Honestly, Spark is useless and these people sound like total scam artists.

This phone number claims to be from a debt collection company and keeps ringing to say we owe money to Spark Energy. However, our contract with Spark ended back in April 2016, and they even credited our bank before we switched to OvoEnergy. I've now blocked this number and also the Spark Energy debt line, 03451300835, which is supposedly managed by Paul Martin, Head of Customer Services. I just don’t get how these clear scams are allowed to carry on without any action???

I’ve been getting calls from this firm and a couple of others, all linked to Spark. I moved into a new place and phoned to switch energy providers, never actually heard of Spark before, then I learned they were the previous supplier. They’re asking me for £87 for just 20 days’ worth of electricity in the summer, which seems ridiculous as my direct debit at the old property was only £35 a month. After speaking with Spark, they dropped it to £50, still way too high. Then I found out the house has a smart meter. I asked them to show me the actual usage data to justify that charge, but they said the new supplier should provide that info. So basically, Spark is just estimating my electric consumption. I’m not paying a penny until I see proper data from the smart meter.

I got a call from Allied International Credit, claiming they were calling for Spark Energy. They wanted me to verify my address right over the phone. I said no. When I asked what it was about, they just told me to confirm my details before explaining anything. I refused again. Then they told me to contact Spark Energy myself. Why would I do that? I’ve never heard of these lot before they started hassling me, and I’ve been with a totally different energy supplier for years. Why can't these people just work honestly like everyone else? There must be other jobs they could do instead of bothering folks like this. Honestly, it’s disgraceful!

I've been using this company, Tenant Saver, for about a year. They charge £39 every month, but then suddenly sent me a bill for £539. They even phoned my mum, who's 75 years old, asking her to pay it. I ended up paying it myself. Just yesterday, I got an email demanding the same £539 payment again within 10 days or else... When I rang them today to sort it out, I had a rant about the unfairness. After putting me on hold for ten minutes, the person said it’s because I haven’t cancelled their service. Ridiculous.

So my mum used to be with Sparks Energy but switched over to E.ON last April. For some reason, this "debt" firm keeps ringing me up nonstop. About two weeks ago, I got an email from them saying sorry you left, here’s a last bill for £80. Absolutely daylight robbery. Mum was always paying between £60 and £80 a month for gas, but ended up having to turn it off completely. So I’m clueless where this supposed last bill is coming from. Why are they even chasing money that’s already been paid, especially when she left nearly a year ago? Mum only had one bill from E.ON back in June, she paid £80 and is fully up to date now. This whole company is a complete joke.

Watch out for debt collectors working for Spark Energy who are hassling people over bills that are completely incorrect with made-up meter readings that aren’t even agreed on. If you rent through Your Move Estate Agents, they’ll damn well stick you with them, so I reckon the estate agents are in on it too. Total rip-off!

I’m getting hassled by the same lot. Honestly, worst energy firm I've dealt with, and they seem to team up with student housing agencies to hook students into contracts. Stay well clear of them! They keep hassling me over supposed missed payments, but when we left and switched providers, they confirmed everything was settled. Then, out of nowhere, a year later, they start ringing me again even though I’ve moved abroad. I’ve blocked multiple numbers, but they just ring from new ones every time. Can someone tell me how to stop their daily calls at 11 in the morning? Now they’re even sending texts as well... so frustrating!

I keep getting calls about some "unpaid bill" from Spark Energy, but I actually cleared everything off before switching to British Gas - they wouldn’t have allowed me to change otherwise. Honestly, steer clear of Spark Energy! They’re just a bunch of dodgy dealers who lock renters into contracts and then hit them with bills way higher than other companies. Spark Energy basically just buys their gas from other suppliers and rakes in loads of cash from unsuspecting customers. If you look at the reviews on Google, you’ll spot a handful of decent ones which are probably from their own staff or managers, but the majority are from people who’ve been totally ripped off. Don’t fall for it, it’s a total scam!

Allied International Credit keep blowing up my phone about some old issue with Spark Energy - honestly, worst energy provider I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with, totally a dodgy outfit that’ll scam you. That dispute got sorted out ages ago, like over a year back. If they keep ringing me up four times a day while I’m trying to work, I’m gonna have to do something about it. At first, it was like they were just testing the line ’cos they’d call and hang up as soon as I picked up.
