Gave me a ring, yet didn’t bother to leave a voicemail.

Got called by a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was ringing from Carphone Warehouse. I told him I’ve never dealt with them before, and he said it was an automated call from their system. When I asked if their system just dials random numbers to find someone, he shut up for a bit and then hung up on me. These scammers aren’t the sharpest, but if you’re a real Carphone Warehouse customer, you might want to watch out. I didn’t stick around long enough to catch the full scam, but sounded like something about a free phone - probably with sneaky fees like a deposit or shipping.

Got a call from an unknown Glasgow number, so I just ignored it thinking it might be a scam. When I tried to ring back, it said I’d dialled a wrong number. Seems like it could be a fake or some kind of call centre extension. Definitely don’t pick up unless you’re actually waiting for a call from that area.

if no one bothered with cold calls they’d probably vanish pretty quick. but since quite a few folks do answer, those firms keep at it. as for me, i always ignore these calls and if a business keeps ringing or sending junk mail without me asking, i make sure not to deal with them again - and I've actually done this a few times now.

this number has rung me a few times on my work phone. I tried to ring them back but it just said the number was no longer in service. pretty sure it’s just spam, so I’ve blocked it now.
