I just received a dodgy phone call featuring a robotic voice purporting to be from HMRC, warning me about an alleged tax fraud case "linked to your name" (they never actually mentioned my name, mind you). They insisted I press 1 immediately, or else face the threat of a warrant being issued against me, and that I could be arrested soon after. Clearly, this is aimed at unsettling those who might be easily frightened, likely to swindle them out of their cash. I chose not to engage and ended the call instead.

I received a dodgy phone call the other day, which was an automated message purporting to be from HMRC. They kept going on about some supposed tax fraud case linked to "your name", though funnily enough, they never actually mentioned my name at all! They insisted that I needed to press 1 immediately, or else a warrant would be issued, leading to my imminent arrest. It’s quite clear this is a ploy to intimidate and swindle unsuspecting individuals out of their cash. Naturally, I didn’t engage and simply terminated the call.
