I picked up when they rang me, but after that, there was just silence from their end.

Someone called asking for a person with a different name, not mine and definitely not someone who’s ever lived at my address. I ended the call pretty quickly and checked the number on the free "who called me" site to find out who it was. Being here in North West Wales, I knew straight away the 01407 code was for Holyhead.

The TPS only covers genuine sales and marketing firms, it doesn’t cover other types of businesses whether they’re legit or not. You should probably do your homework on this before registering. This case was definitely not legit. Someone was phoning to scam you out of money. It’s important to report scam calls like this.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming he was from the Government. Told me something about free solar panels, which sounded dodgy to me. I said there’s no such free scheme and called him out as a scammer, then he just hung up. He tried ringin me again to say he wasn’t a scammer, but I told him to jog on and blocked the number. Just another scam call centre trying its luck.
