They make it look like the call’s coming from your local area by using your own area code, so you end up answering. Then, once you do, someone on the other end, could be a guy or a woman, will say they’ve got details that you’ve been in a car accident and offer to help you claim for it.

Theres this firm named Follow Up Services from Liverpool. They show up as a local number cause they’re using internet calls, so it grabs the local area code. They kept ringing me saying I’d been in an accident, which I denied. Then they switched to asking about the last two years. Ive had quite a few calls off them and told them to take me off their list, but they just keep ringing regardless.
