Got a call from 01406 426265 today. When I picked up, it was a recorded message claiming to be from Barclays, saying there were two suspicious payments needing approval. It told me to press 1 to confirm the charges or 2 to contact customer service. The amounts mentioned were £300 for Amazon and £1000 for an overseas transaction. We reckon it’s a scam and could be dangerous to others. Barclays don’t even have a branch in Holbeach, which uses the 01406 code, so this call was obviously fake. Tried ringing back the number, but all I got was a high-pitched buzzing, no proper ring tone.
