I got another annoying spam call today. If you don't know the number, whether it's from a landline or a mobile, just don't pick up. It’s always worth popping the number into Google first to see if it’s dodgy. Better safe than sorry!

Got a call earlier from 01406 351676. Right away a robotic voice with a thick foreign accent just goes "Goodbye" and hangs up. Pretty sure it’s some kind of scam or phishing thing. I tried ringing the number back and was met with a recorded message saying TalkTalk screens calls and then it asked me to say my name. Definitely fishy behaviour if you ask me.

Got a call from this number and answered with a simple 'Hello', but no one said a word back. I waited around for about a minute trying to get a response, then gave up. There was a weird pause between my greeting and some background sounds, so it’s clear it's one of those automated robocalls. Best to stay away!

Everyone should report suspicious or strange calls to help cut down on scams. Just send the phone number and any info about the call as a text to 7726. When loads of people report the same number, it sets off a warning across the phone network. Be sure not to report genuine company numbers though. If you get scam texts, forward them to 7726. You can also email scam emails or screenshots of dodgy texts with suspicious links or attachments to '[email protected]'. If scammers have somehow got your banking info, contact your bank straight away and also inform the police on 0300 123 2040.

Loads of these dodgy calls from various numbers claiming to slash my O2 bill by 30-40%. Every time I pick up, there’s this awkward pause for a few seconds before they pretend to be from O2 with some discount deal.
