Got another annoying call, so I’ve just blocked the number.

I got a call from someone using my name, but they didn’t say what the call was about. Straight away, they wanted to put me through to a manager, but then claimed the manager was busy and just ended the call. Honestly, it felt pretty dodgy to me.

In my opinion, this isn’t some kind of sales pitch at all. How could telling someone their NI number will be cancelled have anything to do with marketing? Sounds more like a dodgy scam trying to scare you and squeeze money out. Definitely some sort of criminal blackmail going on with that number.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Legal & General, wanting to conduct a review of my policy - which I do hold with them. They asked for my date of birth, to which I replied that they should have that on file if they were indeed calling about my policy. The call was then passed on to another individual who asked for my postcode. Once again, I found it odd that they didn’t already know that information, given the nature of their inquiry. I asked him for the fourth character of my postcode, which he provided, and just as I started to engage in a conversation, he asked if I’d be interested in taking out another policy. That's when I felt a red flag go up, as I currently have a policy with them. With the surge of unsolicited calls I've been receiving lately, I decided to put a stop to it right there and requested that they send over some paperwork for my husband to review since I wasn’t in the right frame of mind. To my surprise, he promptly hung up.

Got a call from a young guy working at some call centre, looking for a “mary”. Pretty sure this is either some dodgy phishing scam or some poor soul named Mary thinks my phone number belongs to her. This is the fifth time I've gotten a call from a strange number asking for her, and my name definitely isn't Mary.
