3 monthsFrom 12th to 23rd March, this number called me six times, but my phone kept marking it as Spam and blocking it! I decided to check it out here because calling that often in less than two weeks must mean they really want to reach me. Turns out it’s the RSPCA trying to get more donations from me. I say more because last April my mum died, and the donations we got instead of flowers were shared between Alzheimer’s Society, RSPB and RSPCA. They’re never happy, are they?! Glad I found this site to figure it out.RSPCAAlzheimer β s SocietyRSPB4 monthsIt might seem like it's the RSPCA, but I’m not giving them a single penny more. They refused to help a dog being mistreated just because it had water available, which is ridiculous π‘π‘RSPCA4 monthsI didn’t answer, but there was a voicemail saying something about Paul from the RSPCA. The way it was said sounded really dull and like they hadn’t had much practice on the phone, if you know what I mean. I’m pretty sure it was just spam.PaulRSPCA4 monthsPhone rang, I picked up and they just dropped the call right away. No clue who it was, probably just dialled the wrong number.5 monthsThey ended the call straight away without saying anything.5 monthsPicked up the phone and the moment I did, the caller just ended it right away. Decided to block them straight away.5 monthsThey said they were from the RSPCA, straight away telling me they weren’t asking for donations today. They asked for my phone number so I gave it knowing they probably already had it. I didn’t share anything else. They said someone would contact me later. It’s now 7:21pm, and I highly doubt the RSPCA would be calling at this hour just to update their records. Since they’ve got my number, I’ll handle any admin tasks myself, not through a phone call. Be careful not to give out personal details, like I said, I only confirmed my phone number because they must’ve already had it.RSPCA5 monthsI tried ringing back after missing the call but nobody answered. When I called initially, the person said they were from the RSPCA.RSPCA2 yearsThis number kept ringing us a bunch of times so we decided to call back. On the line was someone claiming to be from the RSPCA, saying they needed to check and update some info - sounded a bit dodgy to me. The person had a really strong Indo-Asian accent too. We don’t remember ever giving our phone number to the RSPCA, plus the number they called is actually on the TPS list, so we just ended the call.RSPCATelephone Preference Service2 yearsGot a call from 01403 546409 claiming to be from BT, but it was clearly just a scam.BT2 yearsBe careful!! Scammers often fake real charity phone numbers just like they do with banks and companies. Their main goal is to steal your personal info to pass on to other crooks or even drain your bank account. Charities are covered by TPS, so they shouldn’t be ringing you unless you’ve contacted them first. If you get a suspicious call, send a text to 7726 to report it. There are some great shows on BBC1 and Channel 5 about these scams, available on iPlayer and My5 - well worth a watch. Don't believe you’re safe from scams, cause you’re not!!Telephone Preference ServiceBBC1Channel 52 yearsI get calls from them non stop, it’s really frustrating...2 yearsI received a couple of calls from 01403546409, with the second one prompting me to pick up. The chap on the other end claimed to be representing the RSPA and was discussing gift aid. I mentioned that I was enjoying my retirement and not in a position to contribute. He inquired whether I’d consider leaving a legacy for the RSPA in my will, to which I declined. Strangely enough, he seemed to know my name. However, he maintained a courteous tone throughout and wrapped up the conversation without pressing for any further details.RSPA2 yearsI received a call purporting to be from the RSPCA regarding gift aid. I answered a few of their questions, but I felt a twinge of uncertainty about the legitimacy of the call. I’m still questioning whether it was genuinely them or not.RSPCA2 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be with the RSPCA about gift aid. They read out my info and just asked if it was right - didn’t sound dodgy at all.RSPCA2 yearsThey mentioned the RSPCA but kept asking really personal stuff, which felt a bit off to me.RSPCASubmit Your Own Report (01403 546409)
