Got a call from them a couple weeks back and it took me just three minutes to chat. Glad to say the annoying cold calls have died right down since then. I had a nice bloke called Josh on the line, seemed like genuine folks trying to help everyone cut down on cold calls. Really glad I picked up when they rang, seriously people, you should all do the same. I've even told my mates at work to ring them up too.

Got a call on my phone around 10.50 this morning. They used the same spiel as other people mentioned - a 'free' service to block pesky calls. Obviously a scam, probably a call centre. I told them scammers keep swapping numbers, so flagging just one is pointless. I usually label scam calls with names like Scam1 and so on, so I know at a glance whether to pick up or not.

Yaz from IPS rang me today, mentioned my name and mobile had popped up on a list showing I get loads of nuisance calls. She offered to help stop these calls and said I could sign up with them for free. I agreed but declined the option to register with their partners to keep getting calls. Later, I got a message saying I'd get a welcome email from them in a few days. Apparently, I'll also get two emails from the TPS and MPS.

When I enquired, they admitted that although they stop unwanted calls, they share your details with their sales associates. So you get rid of one set of calls but end up with a different lot instead. Give ringing the number a go, one big red flag for dodgy cold callers is when you can't get through to them. You'll often find it goes straight to their call centre, so not really dodgy if you ask me. I called and asked for the manager, who was more than happy to chat. They only do cold calls because loads of people don’t know the service is free. Surely it’s less hassle to have a quick five minute conversation with them than keep blocking calls all the time? There are honestly some people out there who really want to help!

They only ask for your email so they can send a confirmation, and that email isn’t even from them but from the official government TPS service. So I don’t get why people are so suspicious? They already have your name and address, they verify most of it during the call, but for data protection, they just ask you to confirm small details like your first name or house number - info that you could easily find online anyway if someone wanted to.

This bloke gave me a ring, saying my number showed up on loads of call lists. I told him it’s actually a work phone, then he just hung up on me. Bless his heart for trying, but nah, not impressed.

Got a call from a firm that said they help block cold calls. Bit ironic, right? I just ended up blocking their number straight away.

A friendly lady called me, really sure of herself, telling me I was on loads of cold call lists. I told her it was fine, I just block any numbers like that and said I’d look into who she was. Turned out to be a scam, so I blocked her straight away.

They kept ringing me a couple of times every day, so I just had to block the number now.

That 01403376008 is definitely sketchy - looks like it’s from some dodgy site in Vietnam just trying to scam people out of their cash. Watch out!

I got a call and when I said it sounded like a cold call, the guy insisted it wasn’t. I then asked if he even knew what cold calling meant before just ending the call.
