They get these automated calls saying their Amazon Prime account has been charged without permission. Then the message tells you to “press one” to stop the payment. Once you do that, you’re put through to someone pretending to work for Amazon's customer support. This person will say the subscription was done illegally and insist they need to access your computer remotely to fix some “security issue” so it doesn’t happen again.

Got a voicemail about renewing my Amazon Prime membership. Sounded a bit dodgy to me, so I’m guessing it’s one of those scams. They want you to call back and give card details or something. Just thought I’d warn others to be careful!
