Had the exact same thing happen to me. Told them I had someone knocking at the door and I'd have to call back later. They ended up keeping the line busy forever - clearly trying to pick up on the number I called from. Just let them wait it out until they gave up and hung up. Good job it’s their phone bill, not mine!

I got one of those robotic calls, saying it was from BT, just like others mentioned, saying my broadband was about to be disconnected. If BT really planned to do something like that, I’d expect to get a letter or an email first, not just some random phone call completely out of nowhere. So yeah, definitely a scam in my opinion.

Got a call just now from 01397 704629 again. It was one of those automated ones with an American accent. I didn’t bother answering and just ended the call. (27/09/18)

Got a call saying my internet would get cut off, and to press 2 for details. I just ended the call straight away.
