Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who said she was ringing from the Citizens Advice Bureau, wanting to chat about the cost of living crisis. When I said the number didn’t show as CAB, she quickly switched to saying she was from citizens debt advice instead. I told her I wasn’t interested and ended the call.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from “Citizen Advice,” saying they wanted to help me combine my debts and stop interest charges. They asked loads of personal finance questions - I wasn’t having any of it! Definitely a scam. (By the way, the genuine Citizens Advice charity has offices all across the UK, and they’re brilliant if you need help with debt, but they won’t just ring you out of the blue like this!)

Some bloke named Simon rang me, said he was from C A B or something, but nah, I reckon he was full of it. He was going on about a landlord evicting me and needed my bank info. I told him I was with the dogger bank, North Sea branch, just to mess about. He got a bit narky after that, so I ended the call quick sharp.

Got a call from a bloke who said he was with Domestic Insurance. When I questioned where he got my phone number, he just started ranting and swearing at me. He ended the call by saying something like, “I’ll see you in heaven.” Honestly, this guy was really aggressive and rude. These fake calls like this need to be put to a stop for good.

I got a call from a guy who said his name was Daniel, claiming all my appliances required reinsurance. I told him I’d already sorted that out and then ended the call. Pretty sure it was a scam. What’s annoying is when you block one number, they just ring back a couple of days later from another number.

Had a rather dodgy call from a chap with an Indian accent asking for my missus. When I probed a bit and requested to know who he was, he promptly hung up on me. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

They called and used my name, so I wanted to know who was on the line. When I asked, the guy said his name was "Syrus." I asked him again, "Syrus, who is this exactly?" and then he just cut off without saying another word.

So a bloke rings up, says his name’s Kevin, but his accent didn’t really match. He was trying to sell some washing machine insurance or something. I told him nice and clear we didn’t want it and ended the call. Sounded like a total scam to me. I’ve had calls like that before. This time I reported it and blocked the number, though I’m not sure that actually helps much.

My mum, who's 87 and suffers from dementia, rang me up crying because some rude bloke had called her. I went straight to her flat to see what's up and had a look at her phone. When I tried to ring back, the number didn't even exist. It's obviously some kind of scam. I wouldn't mind having a word with that guy, let me tell you!

Received a call purporting to be from the Citizens Advice Bureau, but I wasn't inclined to trust the woman on the other end, who had quite a pronounced Indian accent. It felt decidedly dodgy, to say the least. She rambled on about some debts that I supposedly owe, but I can assure you, I've got no outstanding payments whatsoever. Something didn’t sit right with me, that’s for certain.

It’s so weird how some of these callers from Asia give themselves proper British names, like as if that’s gonna make me believe them! Honestly, a dodgy story or odd behaviour isn’t gonna feel any more genuine just ‘cause they pick a local-sounding name. I once got called by someone who said they were “Diane” or something, but it was totally an Asian bloke on the line! Made me laugh so much! 🤣

Some bloke with a thick Asian accent said, "Hello, this is Simon Fisher from your insurance provider." I replied, "My insurance provider?" He said, "Yeah." I told him, "I don’t actually have an insurance provider." He went on, "You must be mistaken, Miss." I snapped back, "Nope, I seriously don’t have an insurer, Mr Fish Face." I reckon I gave up the act after calling him Fish Face! 🐟

Had no clue what that pushy person on the phone was going on about, so I'm guessing it was either a scam or they dialled the wrong number; I really think it was a scam though.

No offence intended, but if your "work" is to trick people who speak English in the UK, maybe you should try actually speaking the language properly? Just saying!

I've blocked around 42 different numbers saying they're from the government's Citizen's Debt Advice, and I've reported them too, but they keep phoning me every single day. The mad thing is, I don't owe anyone any money at all! It's so frustrating.

I picked up the phone and some Asian bloke asked if I was Miss **** *********, but he butchered my name so badly I just said no. He asked if I was certain, and I told him I was pretty sure, and that he must have the wrong number. Suddenly, he got all hostile and threatened that if I didn’t pass Miss **** ********* to him, I’d regret it. I told him I don’t tolerate threats and would be transferring him to the threats department. He went, “Wait, what?” before I put him on hold, then he hung up!

Got a call from Citizen Debt Advice, but sounded like the bloke was sitting on the loo or something. The call lasted only 51 seconds before they hung up. This was the first time I saw this number pop up, though they've used loads of different fake numbers before. Definitely a SCAM.
