Got a call where all I could hear was some faint background sounds, but no one actually spoke.

I can't seem to shake off calls from this number that I never asked for. Quite bothersome, really!

I saw the number but didn’t pick up cause I didn’t know who it was, and it was like 8.15 this morning! Seriously, who calls that early? We’re on the TPS too - so irritating.

Got a call earlier but it dropped out before I could hear anything, no voicemail either. I usually don’t pick up if I don’t recognise the number on the screen. If it’s important, they’ll leave a message - that’s what I reckon.

How come companies like BT or other phone providers even let these bogus numbers get through their systems? It seems absurd that fake numbers can slip past the exchange like that.

Had a call from someone with a really strong Asian accent, but with a name that sounded proper English. Said they were from BT and wanted to give me three months free line rental if I just confirmed my postcode so they could send me details. The postcode they gave was completely wrong, and when I told them, they asked for the correct one. By then I’d had enough, so I was a bit cheeky and ended the call. Not even half an hour later, they rang again - pretty annoying little buggers. That’s twice I’ve had to deal with them today.

I have my number listed as ex-directory and signed up with the TPS, just like a lot of folks. When I answered, the person on the other end didn’t say a word. Proper rude if you ask me.

I answered with a simple "Hi, who is this?" and before I could say anything else, the guy just hung up. Back when I used to volunteer at The Samaritans, I’d often get calls like this - mostly blokes looking for some kind of weird thrill, like listening to a woman’s voice for their own strange reasons.

Got a call today, 8th Dec around 12:50 pm, from someone with a strong Asian accent claiming to be from BT Billing. They said I was lucky to get a 50% cut on calls as one of only 50 people picked. They mentioned sending a letter to my address to confirm and asked me to confirm my postcode ##### ###. I hung up straight away after that.

A whopping 35% off! But, I certainly don’t have an account with BT.
He’s well aware of that! Absolutely!
Before long, he just declares it’s a prank call.
And that was that!
Complete waste of precious time.
They really ought to consider adding caller ID.

I get loads of calls from odd numbers like that too. I usually just ignore them straight away. You can tell from the way they speak or the accent who they probably are. I always jot these numbers down somewhere, keep a little list going. Would be great if our phones could just block these automatically. Honestly, no point wasting time answering or getting involved with those calls.

Got a call where there was just silence for a moment, then a woman with an Indian accent said she was from BT and wanted to discuss my BT account. I told her I didn’t have any BT account and the call just dropped. Pretty obvious scam, best to just hang up straight away.

Got awoken early today by a lady with an Indian accent claiming she had some deals for me and needed to check my postcode. She nailed the first couple of letters but totally messed up the numbers. As soon as I told her it was wrong, she just cut me off. Definitely a scam!

This morning, I received a call from a woman with a distinct Indian accent, claiming to be from BT, and she was supposedly offering me a discount on my bills. She had all my personal information, which was a bit alarming, but then she had the audacity to request my bank details! I called her out on it and swiftly hung up. I'm truly fed up with these incessant calls. Why on earth can't BT take action against this nonsense?

After a brief pause, a man with an Indian accent called claiming to be from BT, asking how I was doing. I told him I was still asleep because it was only 8:15 on a Saturday morning - honestly, how daft do they think I am? He just kept going on, muttering "my god" like he was offended, so I ended the call. I'm registered on the TPS, but that doesn't seem to stop these scammy cretins. Oh, and by the way, I’m not even a BT customer!

There was about half a minute of quiet before a bloke with an Indian accent said he was calling from BT and asked how I was doing. I told him, "I'm just waking up, you muppet, it’s only 8:15 on a Saturday morning!" After that, he kept muttering “oh my God” like he was shocked, so I just ended the call. I'm registered with TPS but honestly, it feels like these bloody scammers couldn’t care less about it.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from BT, saying they had great offers on line rental and call rates. I asked her which company exactly she was from and told her I’m not a BT customer for those charges. She didn’t say a word and just ended the call! Seems dodgy, definitely a scam. I’m thinking of reporting it to BT, but seriously, why can’t they just block this number?

Got a call earlier from BT, but the person on the other end sounded foreign, maybe Indian? So this bloke rang me up saying he was from BT’s accounts team, saying I could get massive discounts because I’m a “valued long-term customer” - which I’m definitely not! When I asked him what name he had down for me or how long he reckoned I’d been with BT, he just couldn’t tell me, saying he had no access to that info on his system. Weird, right? Then, out of nowhere, the call just got cut off. I’ve passed the number (071395937551) on to BT so they can have a proper look into it.
