Got called by this number three times, each time they claimed to be from Amazon and told me to press 1 to claim a free iPad. It’s definitely a scam and quite annoying. I really don’t understand why phone companies don’t block these crooks for good.

There's this number that keeps ringing me every morning for the last five days straight. But as soon as I answer, they just cut off without saying a word. It's really annoying!

Got a call from 01395224268, some bloke with an Asian accent who said his name was Peter Henry. Honestly, the name didn’t match the voice at all. He claimed he was from Metro and wanted to insure my TV because the guarantee was about to finish. Then he started asking for my bank details. I just made up a fake account number and read it out to him since he said he didn’t have them. When I told him I’d report him to the fraud department, he quickly hung up. Total scammer.

They get in touch saying they need you to answer some quick marketing questions, but really they're just gathering your details to sell on to a load of other call centres and spammers. After that, you'll be non-stop getting annoying calls. Best to just ignore and block them altogether.

I’m really fed up with folks calling who have a strong Asian accent and then can’t say my name right, yet insist their name is something like Eric or George. The caller didn't show up on my BT Call Guardian, so I’m thinking it might be a scam or some sort of call centre. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

If you’re in the UK and get a call like this, be careful. The message only came on after a pause, mentioned some survey and then gave a number to opt out of more calls, but hung up immediately after. It’s gotta be some sort of scam, because the number shown was 1471, which isn’t even a real caller ID. Makes you wonder what the scammer’s endgame is - like, is there some dodgy plan to make money out of us all that we’re missing? Totally suspicious!
