Sometimes there's no one on the line, but today I decided to pick up and a woman was telling me about a special deal for the Seckford Hotel and Spa in Woodbridge, Suffolk, where we actually stayed a few months ago. It sounded pretty legit, and even though I didn’t share my email or any details, they ended up emailing me with a confirmation from the Seckford Hall Hotel’s promotions team. I haven’t taken the offer up, so I can’t say for sure if it’s real or not. The email had the same number, 01394647811.

This number has rung me four times in the last few weeks. I initially guessed it was linked to a recent stay at a nearby hotel, but no voicemail was left. When I tried calling back with my number withheld (by putting 141 before the number), I got some music and a message in a kind of American tone saying, "Your call is very important to us." I ended up hanging up and have now blocked the number entirely.

I got a call from this number and it said it was from Felixstowe on my phone. Since I’ve got no connections there, I figured it was probably a scam and didn't pick up.
