I hit the speaker as soon as it rang, but all that came through was some robot voice saying goodbye.

So glad I looked up the number here before ringing it back. I got a message with a one-time code supposedly for a payment of £271 to Tesco! The text said if I hadn’t made the payment I should call that number straight away. I had a quick check with my bank’s official contacts and realised it wasn’t from Santander, so I thought it was dodgy and decided to look it up on this site. Really grateful - dodged a scam there!

I've seen this number, 07752539175, connected to a bank scam. Apparently, it pretends to be HSBC sending you a one-time code for something bought on Amazon. They tell you to ring a certain number if you haven't made that purchase, but it’s just a trick.

I got a call from 077597538336 pretending to be from a bank. They tried to send me a one-time code for some Amazon purchase and said that if it wasn’t me, I should ring them back on that number. Sounds like a scam to me.
