I just had an automated call that flagged two dodgy transactions on my bank statement. One was for £300 from Amazon, and the other was a hefty £1500 international transfer. They didn’t specify which bank it was, but they urged me to press 1 to confirm the payments or 2 to talk to a customer service rep. Quite unsettling, to say the least!

In just three days, I’ve received more than 40 calls, all pestering me about my life insurance. They seem to have my complete name, yet the irony is I don’t even have a life insurance policy! It’s rather unsettling, to say the least.

Without a doubt, it’s a dodgy operation. They got in touch on my work mobile—mind you, that's not a number I share with insurance firms. Even stranger, they used a postal address linked to my workplace that bears no resemblance to where I actually live. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

I received a rather unsolicited call from a chap eager to chat about my life insurance policy. It was clearly a cold call, and although he claimed to be affiliated with my bank, it was obvious he didn’t have a clue which bank I actually use. I decided to end the conversation swiftly and blocked the number.

They rang me regarding my life insurance, using my first name. I mentioned that I'd reach out to my insurance provider the following day and mentioned a company name. She then claimed to be calling from that place. However, I realised I had actually given her the incorrect insurance name, which made it quite clear to me that it’s a scam.

I've got to say, it raised a few red flags for me. The whole thing felt rather dodgy and I certainly wouldn't put my faith in it. It appeared he was attempting to pull a fast one, aiming to swipe my banking info. He put on an act claiming to be from Sky's Refunds department.

Most likely a nuisance call. I let it ring without answering, and they didn’t bother to leave a voicemail.
