I received a rather peculiar call claiming to be from BT, using a dodgy number, no less. The caller was adamant that my phone and internet connection had been compromised by hackers and, to my dismay, that the police would get involved if I didn’t divulge my personal details. After about three or four minutes of playing along with their nonsense, I decided enough was enough and hung up. To my annoyance, they rang back not once, but twice more in quick succession, each time from a different number. I opted not to answer the last two calls, and unsurprisingly, they hung up each time. I've made sure to report all three numbers involved.
