A person rang up saying they were from BT and wanted to take control of my computer. When I asked them for their phone number to confirm it was legit, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call on my 0800 line from someone speaking with an Indian accent, said they were from BT engineering. Didn’t trust it for a second so I just ended the call straight away and blocked the number. Pretty obvious that was a scam.

"Had a bit of a bother with my broadband speed the other day, and it was OpenReach on the other end trying to assist. They were yakking away, and then suggested I hit the windows key and R all at once. Well, I couldn't be bothered to hang around to hear what they wanted me to input on my imaginary gadget! 😅"

Someone rang me saying they were from BT Openreach and claimed there was a problem with my router. When I asked them for the fault code, they just hung up straight away. Definitely a scam!

At around half past seven on a Saturday morning, I got a call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent. She claimed there were several error alerts from my BT router. I quickly told her I don’t use a BT router and ended the call straight away.
