Got a call that sounded pretty legit, no demand for my personal details or anything. They told me to turn off every gadget except for my phone. Then they got me to download some app saying it would check my new router. After that, they mentioned sending an engineer over. Something felt off when they asked me to log into my online account to check for a "refund" - definite red flag there.

I’m not sure what that was about, but I just ended the call quickly. At least it got me up and out of bed!

Someone said they were from BT Openreach. After I hung up, they rang me back from 01252643621.

Received a call purporting to be from BT Openreach, saying they had noted some issues with my broadband connection. However, when I mentioned that I'm in IT, they promptly ended the call. Quite peculiar behaviour, if you ask me.
