Heating con artistry

This pertains to the Eco 4 initiative, aimed at swapping out outdated non-condensing boilers for more efficient condensing ones. From what I’ve gathered, it doesn’t appear to be a scam at all.

Received a call from a local number claiming to offer complimentary home upgrades courtesy of the government. It struck me as rather dubious, so I decided to end the conversation.

I received a call from Exeter, which isn't far from where I live. The caller claimed to be offering free home upgrades funded by the government. It just didn't seem credible, so I decided to end the conversation.

Scammers, best to steer clear of any calls from this number!

Avoid answering calls from unknown numbers and steer clear of engaging with the callers. They are likely up to no good and may attempt to con you.

On Tuesday, 7th March 2023, I got a call while I was out and about. They didn’t bother to leave a message, which is a bit dodgy, if you ask me. From what I've been reading about this number, it seems to be another scam effort linked to the same crowd, Magaretha. It appears they’re quite the globetrotters, using different numbers and locations for their various scams.

I received a call from a company called Eco 4. As far as I understand, they're connecting folks with trustworthy installers in the vicinity. It seems they earn a modest fee for every person they refer. There have been businesses like this for ages, and I honestly don’t think it's anything dodgy at all.

The individual I spoke with was articulate and communicated in proper English. She asserted that she represented ECO4 funding but was quite evasive when I inquired about the company’s name. Eventually, she hung up on me after I pressed for more details. Although the number is legitimate, it’s clear that the business is not. This is unequivocally a scam.

If they don’t say anything, they’re probably not genuine.

01392 247030 - Encountered a dubious call from Eco 4. The moment I expressed my scepticism, they abruptly hung up. Exercise caution with the sweet, convincing tone of the woman on the other end!

Received a dodgy call about some heating service the other day. Definitely a scam, if you ask me!

I received a call from someone named Justin, who claimed that a government initiative would cover the costs of upgrading my heating system, regardless of whether I was on any sort of benefits. It struck me as rather dodgy, so I decided to end the conversation and hang up.

Indeed, I received a call regarding a complimentary boiler replacement. I expressed my suspicions about it being a con and firmly told the caller to 'do one' before promptly blocking their number.

The moment I started raising my voice over the telly’s news report, the caller hung up straight away. Definitely sounds like a dodgy scam.

I received a call on my home phone earlier today, on the 10th of January 2023, from an unfamiliar number: 01392247030. The call came through around 10 AM GMT, but they didn’t bother to leave a message. Odd, isn’t it?

I reckon that Mrs was rather keen for me to drop a name or two, but I could only muster enough sense to hang up. Tried ringing the number again, only to be met with a rather posh American voicemail. It chirped something along the lines of “kindly hold, your call matters to us!” Oh, how charming! Quite certain it’s just a bunch of fraudsters!

There was quite a delay before he picked up, and when he finally spoke, he introduced himself as Justine. Oddly enough, he seemed to know my name as well. He brought up something about the Government's ECO scheme and claimed that the beginning of my postcode fell within a qualifying zone. I politely declined, saying I wasn't interested!

They mentioned they were offering complimentary energy efficiency upgrades, clearly focusing on elderly individuals and those receiving benefits, as those were the specific conditions he outlined.

Got a call from 01392247030. Didn't recognise the number and they didn't bother leaving a voicemail. Judging by what I've seen in past reviews, I'm guessing this could be another dodgy scam attempt. Quite tiresome, really!

I received a rather alarming call from someone claiming that our internet would be disconnected within a day because of supposed illegal activities. They urged me to press 1 to avert this disaster. Rather than fall for that nonsense, I decided to block the number right away and reached out to my internet service provider for clarification instead.
