I got a call on my landline from a number that had the same area code as mine. The bloke sounded Asian and claimed he was from Virgin Media's tech support, saying there was an issue with my router. When I asked why he was calling from a local number, he went oddly quiet. Then I asked for my account number to confirm who he was, and he suddenly hung up. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.
