Got a robo call saying BT were about to cut my line off cos they detected some dodgy activity. They wanted me to press 1 to chat with someone or 2 to hang up. I didn’t press anything, just waited till the call ended with that long dead tone. Thing is, I’m not even a BT customer. Checked the number, it seems to be coming from India or somewhere similar. Feels like a typical scam to me, targeting folks who’d panic and hit 1 without thinking. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Got a robo call claiming BT would cut off my phone because some unknown person had used it. They said to press 1 to talk to an agent or 2 to end the call. I ignored the options and just let it ring out until they dropped, giving a long dead line tone. Problem is, I don’t even have BT. I looked up the number after and it traced back to India, which is a big red flag. I’m pretty certain it’s a scam trying to scare folks, especially those who might panic and press 1 without thinking.
