12 yearsFor the past few weeks, I’ve had these recorded calls popping up 2 or 3 times a day, telling me things like “Dear Customer, you haven’t claimed your free government-funded boiler...” then saying to press 2 to talk to someone. Most of the time my phone just shows ‘unknown’ so I usually hang up straight away. I’ve heard some of these could connect you to international numbers if you press anything, which ends up with crazy expensive phone bills. Because two mates of mine are ex-directory, I figured I might need to pick up sometimes even if the caller ID was hidden.
