I received a call from a lady with a strong Indian accent that was quite difficult to follow. She claimed to be from BT and mentioned there was an issue with my broadband speed, insisting I check it immediately. I mentioned I was in the middle of my breakfast, but she continued to press for a speed check. I politely suggested she might want to ‘take a hike’ and subsequently ended the conversation. To add to the frustration, the line quality was dreadful, which doesn't reflect well on BT, assuming they were indeed the caller.
